Who out there is running a remote oil filter on a 3G swap?

I'm looking for some ideas on where I might relocate my remote oil filter. Back when I first did the swap, there weren't as many options for adapters, mounts, or even engines, so I ended up with a block-off plate and a remote oil filter plumbed in the fittings above the filter (stock oil temp sensor is mounted in one of them originally). At the time I just mounted it on the inner fender up by the radiator, but that's exactly where the A/C dryer in the Classic Auto Air kit goes, so I'm looking for ideas of where I might move it to. At my last oil change I took the whole thing out and was holding it up all over the engine bay looking for places I might put it, but I wasn't really happy with anything I was seeing. I thought I was going to have a lot more room, but it seems like everywhere I looked the filter was either going to be right over the top of something (so a mess during oil changes with it dripping on things like suspension or the K frame), or it would be in a place that hangs it a bit dangerously (too low or in a crush zone). The most open spot I could fit would be mounting it to the bumper bracket, but I don't really like idea of having it right behind the bumper where it could potentially get crushed. My dad suggested turning it sideways, which I never really thought about, but makes sense and could save me some room.

So all that said, who out there is running one? Have any pictures you're willing to share to give me some ideas? In my mind's eye it feels like mounting it sideways on the frame rail right behind the core support might be the best option as far as clearance and limited mess, but I think there's less room there than I think once I actually start holding parts up.

Here's a quick picture of the area I currently have it set up:

Found this one, too.

I can't figure this one out. I remembered seeing that picture before, but there's no way that would fit on my car. My crank pulley practically overhangs my K frame. Either their engine is sitting way higher or there is just something weird between mine and that one like a different size crank pully.

This one gave me a good chuckle at first. It looks like the filter is hanging by the chain until you look closer. I guess I do have the power steering pump mounting location to work with, so that could be an interesting option to work off of to build a bracket. I thought about trying to move it to the driver's side under the battery box, though I might need to swap to a shorter filter. I currently have the Fram PH8 style, but the PH16 is the same filter, just shorter (or maybe I have that backwards, whichever). Thinking I'd probably still want it facing at least down or sideways though. That upward slant could get a bit messy during changes.

Maybe it's from a B-Body?

I thought the same thing at first. And the next thought I had was that it was probably really messy during an oil change.

If there isn't room down on the k-frame, I would try to use the PS rail myself.

I wondered if maybe that first picture was something different. I think it originally came from TTI if I remember correctly, but I could be wrong.

I'll have to look at turning the filter sideways and checking the difference in length between the filters. I remember when I held it up on the frame rail pointing down originally it was going to hang way lower than I was comfortable with. I know I've scraped my front sway bar bushings on some steeper inclines in the past, and I'm pretty sure the filter would have hung lower than that. Turning it sideways would probably be enough to fix that though, or even just some amount of slant. Would potentially let me keep my lines without having to modify anything either, though I might still be tempted to cut them shorter just to clean things up.

Yep, TTI. I clipped the image from their remote filter kit instructions which I linked to as well.

I thought I had seen a pic on here, they had it mounted on the k member to lower radiator yoke bracket.

Hmm, I kind of like that idea. Went out and did a bit of an eyeball and seems like that could be a nice location that's pretty out of the way with easy access and limited mess. I'll have to get new hoses to make that work though as the fitting orientations I have don't really work well with it, and my hoses are pretty stiff from heat cycles.

I looked at trying to get it on the frame rail somewhere, and there's just not really that much room between the engine and the radiator on my car. Probably partially because my radiator is quite a bit wider than original maybe.

My son's Scamp is set up like yours, on the inner fender. The right frame rail will never rust!! I'm going to move his also.

Went ahead and mounted it up to the k frame to lower core support strap and I'm really liking it. I tried to get a picture just now, but it's buried down there pretty good and I can't get under the front of the car at the moment for a better angle. I'll see if I can grab some when I get the new lines made up. Pretty close routing and shorter hoses as well, though it does still turn a 90 right out of the block. I could probably change that to a 45 and do a bigger loop, but that might make them rub on the fender, so I'll take the slight flow loss of the 90s.

I could have just cut the hoses I have down for the new routing, but I noticed when taking the lines off that the fittings were spinning in the hose itself. It's push lock style hose ends, and the hose has just gotten hard with heat cycles. They were still pretty solidly in there, so I don't think I'd be worried about them coming off, but they might have just started to begin seeping. Went to order some more and I noticed that the line was only rated for 180 degrees (Summit twist-tite brand, which is apparently just Flex-Loc hose by Thermidor). Went with Aeroquip AQP hose to replace it as I believe it has a higher rating but is still compatible with the same fittings, but won't have it till Tuesday or Wednesday.

Here are a couple of pictures I grabbed the other day when I got my new hoses cut and installed. So far I'm really happy with it. Time will tell at the next oil change, but it can't be any worse than it was before. I think the lines look closer to the fan than they actually are. Generally speaking I've got good clearance around everything and a nice short route. Each hose is maybe 14" long or so.

Instead of using a remote filter set up I moved the right motor mount back 2 inches and was able to put oil filter in stock location
