Why are Cavaliers so funny?

same reasone people make fun of the escort/focus and Neon

There are jokes about all brands of cars and just about every model, too. All you need is some brand loyalists, a few beers, and an open (or tightly closed) mind. lol

Almost as funny as Saturns! I don't know why most all American compact cars are lame (especially the ones like the Z24 that try to look hi-perf...lol)

That guys tat might be the sole remaining evidence that these things existed some day. I can just hear it now..

"You young'uns will never have it as good as we did back in my day"

"Your grampy used to be cool back in his day.. that's when cars were cars, not the crap you get today"

"Oh grampa, can you tell us some more of your "kill" stories again?"

"No, she's not for sale. I'm planning on restoring her someday"

"Ya, she was Cobalt Blue, with factory flames.. didn't see many of those even back then"

LOL..

Why are Cavaliers so funny?

Because they were made by the same company that brought us the Aztec?

Because it's the same company that tried to "slip us" the EV-1?

I hate Saturns, a joke of a car.

We've had 3 of them. A 1998 SC2 Coupe, a 1996 SC2 Sedan, and a 2006 ION 3.

Still have the the 98 Coupe 254,000 miles (no major repairs), we keep it in Orlando when for use when we're visiting down there. We also still have the 2006 Ion 3 presently with 75,000 miles and no repairs. My wife uses it as her daily drive to and from work.

We sold the 1996 SC2 Sedan to our neighbor's son in 2006 when he started college with with 298,000 miles on it, and he still uses it daily as his commuter car. Last time I spoke to the young man (in January) he told me the car has about 335,000 miles on it, now, and still runs well.

Might be a joke, but it's a damned good one. lol

Yes, but were any of them near Uranus?

i have a buddy that has a 94 cavalier with 277,000 miles that he uses to get back and forth to work that he bought for 800 bucks and its the only vehicle he and his family has and can afford to drive. at least he has a car to drive. its not funny when it is your only means of transportation to support your family. if you have ever never owned one, you might find they are actually fairly decent cars.

I have owned several chevy canobeers, and a couple of shitvetts
sure they got me around, doesn't mean they weren't total pieces of junk
just means they were pieces of junk that ran, even a yugo ran sometimes

My personal opinion is that all of the Econo-boxes by all manufacturers are total pieces of junk. However, my opinion, like yours has absolutely no bearing on the reality that most of these cars (or any car for that matter) are good at what they are supposed to be, and do, and will last and serve well, if not abused and given the care and maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

Our personal likes, dislikes, and personal preferences don't change these realities. For every story of a car (any brand) not giving good service, there another of the same car giving great service.

I own 2 Dodge Diesel Rams, two Swingers. They are by far the cream of the crop, in my opinion. I also have a 2000 Silverado with 250,000 miles on it that has never had a major repair. In fact the only repair it's ever had was replace of the A/C compressor and that was at 226,000 miles. It's not a fancy truck, either. It's a long bed regular cab. It does have power windows, locks, mirrors, and cd player, but it's also plain white, steel wheels...
I've had it since new, and it's been a great truck. Saying that a Chevy has been a great truck doesn't diminish the quality and service and my opinion of my two Rams, and two Darts. If anything, it speaks to benefits of taking care of your equipment by meeting or exceeding the factory recommendations.

Exactly the key to it all right there. Take care of it, it'll take care of you. It's also a machine, they'll break sooner or later. After all, it's man made.

Some of the Z24's were kind of cool lookin and not to bad on performance for what they were, not a HP car. Just a V6. It is what it is.
