Well, TOOLmm gave me an alert that he`s still following me, he must really REALLY like me

They don't even tell me, I check back later and "poof" things I KNOW that I posted, gone for no reason micromanaging, selective moderation, I know all about those and it aggravates the hell out of me

I have bumped heads with some members and some moderators. Like anyone, I sometimes let my opinions and emotions influence my actions.
Inconsistent moderation just might be a matter of the Moderators being human. We all react differently when we are alert and peppy, tired and intolerant, angry and vengeful or gracious and giving. Sometimes an issue may come up here and the only moderator online just got bad news from a Doctor or a big bill in the mail. I know that I could NOT be a moderator. I'd be the guy that edited incorrect spelling, banned members for posting vertical videos and looked the other way when members I didn't like get bashed by other members....

There are gray areas where a determination can go either way.
I'm not defending moderators here entirely. There have been times where I have been spanked and even after I cooled down, it was still my opinion that I was singled out. The same thing happens in other interactions with those in authority. Many times, they just want to calm the storm even if those that are not entirely at fault get caught in the net.
I am not one that concedes easily. I hate to lose, I hate even more to lose in an unfair manner.
Some conflicts are worth standing your ground, some are not. Many times, I have found that the moderators can be reasoned with if you PM them and explain yourself. It sure helps to NOT start off with cuss words and harsh accusations.
Come on....this forum is supposed to be informative and entertaining, right?

but also:

all kidding aside, i get the human aspect of it all-- i'm a moderator on another site so it's not totally foreign to me-- and once in a blue moon is understandable, but it seems to be more of a regular occurrence. some consistency would go a long way in this department.

the rules are the rules, and i get that; i'm fine with that. but when the rules aren't consistently applied to everybody then at what point are they merely suggestions?

As one of the Moderators who have had in the past many conversations with you about posts, I appreciate what you have written above.

You and I understand each other, and I know you have an appreciation for what we do as Moderators....and why it is done. I just wish a few more would get with the plan and just accept the rules that we all try to play by.

It is a real shame that we have a group of people who are determined to not conform and continue to be obnoxious in their behaviour towards the Mod team and Admins.

I'm sure that given the opportunity to sit and talk around the table at the likes of Carlisle, there would be very little conflict or bitterness....unlike what we witness every day here online.

I sure hope the obnoxious and/or bitterness comment was not directed at me and in this thread in particular. I have approached this conversation politely and with respect even though it’s clear have brought up points (many agree with) mods clearly don’t want to discuss openly. In my tenure here I can think of one time where a mod has removed a comment I’ve made and I can’t even begin to remember why as it was so long ago. I am and very proud to be an American with free will who was raised not to conform simply because someone told me I had to, we are not sheep and do not follow a shepherd blindly. But at the same time was raised with a level of respect for authority and if you question it you had better be willing and able to defend your argument with said respect and do so with integrity and intelligence rather than childish banter.

Read through this some of this.

1. For Sale section has been wonderful for me. Sold two vehicles and a few parts. Also bought some parts. NEVER ONCE a bad deal.
2. Joey's site, he makes the rules. That's that.
3. Only thing I "mod" is my channel. I have words blocked, to try and keep the comments as clean and family friendly as possible. Best subscribers on earth are on my channel... LOL! Those that don't like it, move on
4. To my understanding, the mods here don't get paid. Rough job. Very little gratitude, a whole lot of grief I imagine.
5. Me personally, I usually don't reply to 'For Sale" threads unless I'm an interested buyer. It isn't my job to tell a guy that his '71 Demon front bumper for sale is actually from a D150...LOL. And if you own a Demon and buy it, well, that's on you and you'll soon figure it out ..

Maybe I just don’t get it. Why is there a rule that comments or conversations in sale ads are forbidden? It seems there is enforcement of said rule just because said rule exists, and then to complain about the amount of work to enforce said rule compounds the ridiculousness.

You should have said that in your first reply. And it brings up another question I will have for the administration. Why are moderators enforcing rules they can’t explain?
