Why not pre-67 Alterkation k member?

Does anybody know why an Alterkation K member would not work in a 65 or 66 A body Barracuda? I messaged Alterkation but they have not answered. They are advertised for 67 up. Alternatively, is there some mod that could be done to make them work? Shorten them? Thanks!

The mounting points, track width and overall dimensions are different for the early A.
