Hello everyone. Before registering I went thru each and every thread on this site(long weekend)...guys have your act together. With that said...Here ya go with ANOTHER windshield question.
Will my windshield and/or back glass blow/pop out if I don't re-install the molding?
I had to cut out my windshield and back glass because I had the typical rust problems at the bottom of the channels. The clips were rusted away in many places as well. I am thinking about replacing the gaskets and re-installing the glass without the clips/molding. But I sure as Heck don't need the glass to pop out. Can't put the glass/gaskets in without installing the clips first if that is necessary and I can't afford to do it twice so... can some of you help me please.

Can't wait to get body work done 'cause turning wrenches is bunches harder than turning wrenches! Yeah, I know that's why they call it body WORK!!!

No problem will result from leaving the trim off of that model. The gaskets with chrome lock strip rather than stainless moulding is another story. Those gaskets will leak without the trim. Yours will seal fine.

Boy, that was fast! Guess I chose the right site. Ok, I don't believe in taking anything for granted so... is the chrome molding just for appearance purposes?

cosmetic only, early a,s with a groove in the gasket are the only ones requiring the chrome lockstrip trim be reinstalled. be sure you have the new type gasket which has no lockstrip

Gentlemen(no slam to any of our girls that are smart enough to drive mopars) I want to thank you. Been wrenching on Mopars since '64 with a 28 yr layoff in the Navy so I've got a lil knowledge. If I can EVER help...I will.

thanks FABO =D>
