Started converting the 67 B`cuda convertible from a POS to a sweet ride and was told that the floors were all good in this car when I bought it. I pulled the engine/trans and suspension a few weeks ago and thought I`d remove the interior while waiting on parts. Well this is what I found when I pulled the seats and carpet. I guess it`s not a big deal since there`s so much metal work to be done on this car, but it was advertised as having solid floors. Oh well, another couple C-notes and a couple days work. The inner fenders are pretty much shot as well! I`ll post more pics as work continues.

Ahhhh, the elusive floor air option! :) I just went through the repair process on the inner fenders on my Vart. Some of that metal is thin as paper and a real challenge to weld, and then there's the double metal on the inner parts right back by the firewall. Have fun, and keep your MIG wire cut to a sharp point when welding the thin parts.

I too know the woes of floor windows. Back in my younger and not so wiser days I bought a '73 SS Nova from a guy in Iowa. Before going on an 8 hr drive to get the car, I asked if there was any major rust. He stated it had new rear quarters and the floor boards were solid.

Well, I made the mistake of taking his word. I got back home and remove the carpet to find not only were the floor boards gone, but the area between the interior panels and the rear wheel wells was gone, not to mention the areas below the B pillars.

All in all, I drove 16 hrs for a very expensive parts car.

That is exactly how mine looked, well mine was worse but i knew what i was getting :D The frame looks pretty good for the way the floor looked.

Looks like right now would be a perfect time to add some of those A-bodiy torque boxes!!! And I agree that the framework looks pretty solid. You might consider POR-15 on the insides of them before you put the patch panels back in.

Good Luck!!! with it, Rick Keesler

I'm with hime on POR-15. Wait a day or so and I'll have pictures of mine. YIKES!!!! Very scarry.

Hello Rick, I haven`t seen you around much, here or Ebay. Hope everything is well with you. The torque boxes look good on the car and I have a zinc based paint I was thinking of using under the floor pans. The next few days here are going to be stormy with Ernesto coming through. Hopefully I`ll get some more pictures posted as work progresses.

Hey John, Hope all is well out your way. I haven't had much time for ebay or alot of posting on the boards the past few months.

I moved out of Kansas up to the south end of Puget Sound in March and went to work for Layson's in the warehouse. I pull parts and stock parts on shelves, but my main duty is to double-check order sheets and package boxes up for shipment.

I read the "Bash Layson's" threads on a regular basis, and that is the main reason I went to work for him. I decided it was better to be pro-active and help to try and solve problems instead of sitting on my duff. I've been a customer waiting for parts from vendors before, so I try and do everything within my power to help alleviate that problem.

It's a thankless job.....but I've saved a LOT of money for a LOT of customers by catching mistakes BEFORE they go out the door.

Keep an eye on that weather, stay safe, and take care.

I`ll say it "Thanks"... Layson`s needs some good people working for him/them. Each time I call they say they`re 2 weeks behind in shipping. It`s no wonder I use Year One, I can order on Monday and have it on Wednesday. If enough good people hire on, perhaps they`ll eventually catch up. I would still like to use Layson`s. Good luck with the new job, I know from dealing with you personally that you`ll make a difference!

i havent ordered anything from laysons after reading some of the things i have read about them. But now i know there is an A Body guy working there, i might have to give them a chance.Longgone, the car is going to be a lot of work and a lot of money (go figure huh lol!) but it will all be worth it in the end, she is going to look nice.

Thank You! guys for the kind words. It's because of Mopar people like you folks that I took this job.......it certainly wasn't for the money....heh. There are four of us that work the warehouse, three of us(including me) are hardcore Mopar and the fourth is a good worker.

Things are starting to look up here, we're pulling parts for new orders usually the same day you folks call them in. We are current on that. And every order that has been cleared to ship is out the door that same day or next, so rest assured that the delays do not result from the warehouse activity. We are also very diligently going thru each and every backorder trying to do whatever we can within our powers(in the warehouse) to get those resolved and shipped out as soon as possible. And that's all I am able to say about that....
