would this pass chassis certification?

we could talk about the economy too... but that is off topic also. :tongue7:

The economics discussion is going on in the political forum. It's always heated, and it's always pointed. Bring your thick skin, and jump into the fray.

ok, getting back to the original question, yes it will pass tech. no where in the rule does it say that the roll bar has to look like the pic in the nhra rule book. as long as he builds the cage like the rule explains his pic will pass tech, period

Direct quote from the rule book
------------------------------------------------------
"Crossbar and rear braces must be welded to main hoop."
------------------------------------------------------

Now it doesn't say both sides need to be welded....

Best to call the tech director in your region and ask.

Yes it does... you need to read the entire section. There are areas the crossbar MUST be located within.

It will not pass tech. In fact a 6 point bar is not legal, it has to have the diagonal braces to the frame.

As for street racing, all I can say is you can't fix stupid.

yup

And I street raced for years. The closest track is $100 in fuel and almost 3hrs one way away. It's still the place to race.
