Wrecked Cuda

$44,000 repair estimate. I call BS there.

Easily. Both quarters are buckled, plus the tail panel. Rear rails are bent otherwise the drivers quarter wouldn’t have buckled, that old girl is bent. So both quarters, tail panel, a frame rack, rear bumper, probably the trunk lid and the gutters, front valance and whatever passenger side suspension is jacked up. Drivers front suspension doesn’t look right either, it’s on the bump stops.

The paint alone will cost at least $10k and it wouldn’t be hard to spend double that on paint and bodywork. Could spend $30k US on that repair easily with the hourly rate at a shop that’ll take it in.

That’s assuming the oil pan , trany , driveshaft and rear end housing weren’t damaged in the wreck . I worked for a Subaru dealer long ago and an old couple ran over an 8” rock .
No visible body damage but it took out the entire drivetrain !

I thought this Cuda just had 1/4 panel and frame damage . Didn’t realize it had run over something? Possible the ditch it went thru after the initial collision.
Looks to Me like He like He lost it with His foot glued to the carpet, the RF wheel/suspension hit the high curb 1st, then the rear came around to follow thru' & smacked the curb & guide rail.

The distance the jamb is pulled a good ways from the rear edge of the door when shut, there's a nice wrinkle hiding under the vinyl top at the C-pillar, the rearend probably yanked the whole body left before it tipped enough to wreck the side of the quarter.....

Took out the radiator too, unless that's oil or trans fluid. :BangHead:

Yea, they say once you file a claim at Haggerty, you never go back. :BangHead:
My brother had his 69/69 Firebirds insured thru hagerty .
He got a speeding ticket and made a claim on his Toyota Tundra due to backing into a tree while plowing snow and Hagerty dropped him .

The guy with the knowhow to fix that in his back yard will find a better doner and probably not have 70k to buy it . The buyer that has the cash but not the knowledge to do it will have to spend 35k+ to get it done for by a shop . 70k if he wants it concourse quality . And it will still have a salvage title. For that money one could buy a pristine 6-pac car.

If he had cherished salvage, he'd get the check and the car. That's the best deal going in classic car insurance. I switched back to Hagerty just because of that.

Its going to need a good tug to repair it. Floor might be buckled too.
I'm bettin' front & rear, as far as that frt wheel's moved, I'll wager the UCA/shock tower is tweaked good & wrinkled the inner fender with it. W/the K probably destroyed, that whole rail's gotta be hurtin'.

Ya, a lot of speculation. Might just need a spindle up front. I've seen that a few times. Lots of leverage when smacked down low.

Why would the Tundra have anything to do with Haggerty?
