What’s the deal with the big 70’s headphones on the dash in one of the pictures
Those are noise canceling, Bluetooth headphones. No BS… total game changer on long drives at 3k with the windows down. My son used his air pods with mickeys on top.

Are you running turn down exhausts and/or flowmasters?

I guess we get older, we don’t put up with stuff… I drove my Barracuda from LA to Iowa all through college 1” torsion bars with KYB’s was a stiff ride. 1st time was without a headliner which really help with noise. One time with 225/50/15 tire and 3600 rpm cruising.

Full 2.5 exhaust with crossover and summit welded turbo style mufflers, exits at bumper. I’d like it to be quieter, I feel it would help with the “slow shitbox” look.

I added sound deadening to edge to edge on floor and up fire wall. And added on it cardboard separator between rear seat back in trunk.

It was/is that fiber/cloth stuff with foil on both sides. Popular in the early 90’s and lots of sellers of it at the Long Beach swap meet at the time. It’s not as heavy as that tar stuff, but I don’t think works as good for sound.

Something inside the roof helps big time too. Roof is huge metal drum right over your head. Trunk is a sound boom tube too. Trunk lined with cardboard with insulation like luxury 70’s and 80’s car will help too.

One of my DA QA1 rear shock leaked it’s guts out. After reaching out to QA1, I was surprised to learn that would not sell me the reseal kit for this shock. I sent it out to Naake, they had it resealed and shipped within 1 day! They also had no problem selling me an extra seal kit.

Naake used to do the custom shocks for the Irwindale Late Model I used to work on. They might still use him.

How much to rebuilt one shock?

Would it be the same cost to revalve it?

About $150 for reseal and ride back home.. also had them included a spare seal kit. Didn’t ask about a revalve, not even sure what I would need at this point. In process of going from radials to bias.

Out with the old. Both plungers on the solenoids are dimpled… was not able to find the rebuild kits for these pn’s. I have a set of new solenoids coming from summit. Looking forward to run some bottles through the new parts

Ripping around this weekend, felt idle was bit too high. As I opened the hood to pull it back I glanced at my fuel pressure. I have it set at 6psi in my bypass type regulator. It was indicating 3… wtf. Pulled in garage and let it sit. Came back out after we cooled off, key on showing 6psi?? At this point I’m thinking my blue Holley pump is acting up. So today after work, I figured I would pull it and take a look, found the issue.

Some time back I had slammed in an old fuel cell in. The tank foam has obviously gone to ****.

Few years sounds right. I remember this install being a last minute thrash... one of those "Ill come back and dial it in type of jobs".

All clear. Pulled the foam from the old cell. Also inspected/cleaned the 10 micron before the carb. While I was feeling motivated I even hooked up the fuel cell vent to the original location.
Im going to play with the car this weekend. The plan is to head out to Az in couple of weeks to play at the duct tape drags. Gonna try and get into the hooptie challenge agsin, I almost didn’t make it in last year.. I may have to pull my grill on something to make it look even more beat.

My plans to attend duct tape drags went sideways. Im thinking about moving forward with my ignition upgrade.

About the time I decided to switch from a 235 drag radial to a 26x9.5 QTP tire my right rear QA1 da shock leaked its guts out. That made it super sketchy when I lifted off the gas from a hit. After the shock was red sealed it was much better, but not 100%. Started playing with air pressure, but it really started to crown the tire. Ended up running about 15 psi at temp, definitely high for a bias. This has all been on a 7” wheel. I picked up a set of 15x8 ( 4.5BS) to run and see if that extra inch will help stability. I shot a picture of both wheels with the same tire and air pressure. You can really see the difference in how the tire was ballooned out on the 7” wheel.

Bye bye 904. Was spraying through the gears… flared up good between 1-2 shift. When I shut it down and as attempted to turn around, it was jammed up in 1st and 2nd. Was able to limp in home in drive. Once I had it out I could not resist taking a peak inside. It basically welded a couple of the clutches/steels In the low/reverse pack. Im having a local mopar trans go through the trans for me. Making some upgrades this time around.

Trans is back.. also bought a valve body from Cope. Had a converter shop in Oceanside open my unit up and inspect it. No damage but some debris from the clutch plates.
I was motivated lot get it back in the car tonight, was tired of seeing if all pulled apart in the garage.

If it’s not one thing…
This fresh 904 and cope rvm valve body is serious. It goes into gear very solid and shifts almost faster than I can shift. However, I’ve been sitting on a bunch of msd parts and would really like to get them installed. I’ve been dragging my feet because I wasn’t comfortable loading up my charging system anymore than it already is. I often find myself going into neutral and bumping throttle to keep my fuel pump from bogging down from low voltage. Decided to go ahead and install a denso alt to upgrade the system.

Basically went down to auto one and picked up an alternator for a Toyota 4cy 4Runner. It has a similar look to the mopar unit and outside of making couple new bushings it was practically bolt in. This upgrade also allowed me to cleanup the engine harness by loosing the ext regulator and the factory ignition (msd incoming)
