    timing on 67 273?

I am ready to set the timing on my 67 273 and not sure what I should set it at. It's a 273 2 barrel, automatic, Isky E-4 cam(solid), Pertronix Ignitor I ignition, stock 2 barrel exhaust. Did I read the factory service manual I have right at 8-10 degrees advance at 1750 rpms? thanks Aaron

    Another stupid motor mount question

I feel completely stupid asking this, but it has been too long since I took the motor mounts off of my 273 and I don't remember how they go back together. The question I have is does the bolt on the rubber mount go in the upper hole or the lower hole. Looked at the service manual cd I have but...

Help settle an arguement, oil pump shaft

Dad has been helping me rebuild the 273. He says you can't install the oil pump shaft with the intake on, I say you can just may have to devise some kind of tool to get it lined up right. I am still probably at least a couple months away from engine install and startup, and therefore I...

273, fuel pump eccentric & oil filter adaptor questions

Finally getting my 273 together, the fuel pump eccentric was grooved some, called all around and nobody has one. Should it be okay to use as is? Do they ever fail? Should the bolt be loctited? Looking through my gasket set I didn't see the fiber gasket for the right angle oil filter adapter...

    barbell lifters

My 273 originally had barbell solids lifters, the replacements I got are solid (they don't have the recessed ring). My question is will they work? Is there a purpose for the barbell shape of the old lifters? With the problems I have had with getting the upper end of this engine together I...
