**Twin Turbo 67 Dart Project**

Only 700hp Louis?I think you,ll be making more for sure with twins on a 500hp stroker JMO.:toothy10:
I also don,t think budget comes into effect with a build like this(never ending add-ons)It sure will surprise many a Chebbie&Furd owners on the street.Great work Louis!

Depends on how much boost I throw at it. Standard theory is you can DOUBLE your HP with 1 Bar "14.7lbs of Boost" some come short and some go over so It could possibly see 1000Hp at the crank. I don't know how long it would live but.......................haaaaaaaa:-D

Cool build! Ryan at Shady Dell built a SB single turbo engine for his own '70 Coronet. He had a thread over on moparts showing pictures of it a while ago.

Yes I seen it on theturboforums.com, the original engine has passed away he couldn't control the boost "the wastegate failed or something" and it detonated breaking some ring lans. He has put a bigger turbo on it and it is running again as of recently.

I remember!!
I was also told on TTF that stroking was irrelevant.. And that was hammered onto me!!

Where did you get the intake info.?

You have to remember that the motor has to run well even off boost or it will be real lazy. I run small a 340 in my turbo dart with twin 60mm turbos with a A/R .96 and it has no trouble getting on boost. It does have lag if you run it on the street driving down the road. Even then the lag is welcome since it busts a serious move when it does come on boost and the lag allows the car to accelerate some making the power more usable (if you have the balls to drive it sideways at over 100). I built a 360 twin turbo with T04s and .96s it has almost instant boost response and is wicked (more like stupid) on the street. I have tried the dual plane on a turbo motor and it ran poorly with horrible distribution problems. Its not just equalizing the boost, the air is moving fast through the plenum and runners so the dual planes have distribution issues on N/A motors so the turbo stuff is worse (so is nitrous by the way). I only have my own experience and head scratching to back up my info so there may be someone out there that has done it. I would be careful on TTFs there is some seriously WRONG info floating around as any forum does.

By the way "Looking good Louis! Feeling good Billy Rae!"

well since I'm running a 345ci gen3 hemi and a set of T04's with a .96 I guess its going to be crazy fast. And have instant boost......

hey awesome build cant wait to see the finished product!!! also with the exhaust why not use them little electric butterfly openings so you can have the non muffler behind the front wheels when you want (racing) and the muffled in front of the axle for the street. best of both worlds right? unless there is a problem with running those that i dont know about.

PS your build makes me want to turbo my 440, but i would have some serious fitment issues in my scamp i thinks

Well I got theTPS sent to me and it was the wrong one for this Throttle Body. The one they sent was for a driver side mounted unit and it would have spun the wrong way giving a false reading to the ECU, closed throttle would be wide open and open throttle would be closed, so it would be the exact opposite of what I needed. I did end up ordering the correct passenger side mount TPS today after extensive research and it should be the right one now, we will see.

Never had Boost in a Muscle Car, only in a Sand Car and Diesel Trucks etc. I am eager to find out exactly what it will do. Hopefully by going EFI after the tuning is all done it will run its azzzz off!

To say the least! I cant wait for a ride.

I got the Blow off Valve flanges welded up and mounted. Just waiting for the 4" to 3" Reducing 45* Elbow to get here from frozenboost.com
It is starting to come together. Seems like at the end of every project it takes longer than the first 90% of it did!!

This elbow here is a 3.5" to 3" bending reducer. The throttle body takes a 4" cause it is 90MM.

Oh I see now..The way the one side was bent it looked like the pipes were 3.5". So You are going dual 3" to single 3" to 4" right? Why not just skip the 2-into-1 3" Could you not find the adapter?

You would not believe how hard it is to get Y Pipes etc. The only ones I found were the same size through out the whole Y. I would need to build my own to do that. The 3" to 4" 90* reducing bend will take care of the whole thing and it will be nice and clean too..

There is a big thought process that goes on with a build like this, you change one thing and it affects the next. You are forced to think 2 or three steps ahead which is a BRAIN STRETCHER at least for me anyway!:dontknow:

Man! Coming along very nicely!!

This thing is going to be a monster.

You gonna Hook us all up with Video of it doing its thang?

Yes I sure will. The real engine is machined and is ready for assembly. As soon as the mock up is done which should be in a week or so. The engine will be assembled and the complete set up "Intercoolers, Meth Injection etc" will be Dyno Tuned at Imm Engines in Indio Ca, Brian member ou812 will be doing the Dyno work!
I will for sure be doing a few video's of it in the Dyno Room. It should be dialed in really close and if needed it will go to the chassis dyno after it is installed in the car.

Did you build your own Y pipe or were you able to find it somewhere? I've been looking everywhere and can't seem to find any, so I am planning on making my own unless i can magically come up with someplace. Car is looking sick though and can't wait to see how it performs. Great write-up and attention to deatail man! :thumbrig:

You can find the 3" Y Pipe that you see in the pictures. I looked for a bigger Y in 3" with longer legs forever and never could find one.
Here is the one I did get.......

Really like your new Edelbrock intake setup Louis. It's way nicer than that carb hat thingamabob that you were struggling with before. Engine bay looks friggin awsome. Your work is sweet and it shows in the way you've laid out and matched everything side to side. Do you have any plans on taking this beast to the "Mopars at the Strip" come April? It would be a ball buster to get it completed and tuned by then but I sure would like to see it in person. Say hi to Brian from the guys up here in the NW, were bringing the Duster down to Vegas again, with the nitrous hooked up this time!

Thanks! I like the looks alot better also. I had EFI on my Sand Car with an after market ECU. After I had it dyno tuned I never had to touch it again and never ever had any problems with it. Started up and alway's ran hard at that. I am hoping for the same with this set up.

Well I don't know about April being ready, we will see.
What motor and how much nitrous you hitting it with?
