my car ran 6.3 @108 over the 1/8 with pipes on and 3.9 gears is this a nine second car

The Duster was purchased while in high school with a /6 and 3 in the floor. It was raced at the Mopar nationals , young guns in 2004 and 2005 with a 360 , 904 W 1/4 mile times of 12.20s
The car now has a 414 stroker W INDY cylinder heads making the 1/4 mile at 10.00s @ 138 mph with a 60 ft. time of 1.30 It has a PTC 5000 stall converter in the front of a 904 tranny. built by Wolfords transmission , and a Mopar 8.75 rear with 4.30 gears , full spool , 35 spline axles .Turning 9X30 Hoosier radials
Everything is transfered to the ground with Caltrac monoleaf suspenson

I have a 1968 Dart. 3150lbs

4.15 stroke 4.38 bore 500 CID
13:1 comp Bullet solid roller cam
Indy 440-1 cast iron heads, 400-3 intake, 1050 Dominator
Hooker supercomp fenderwells, 3.5 inch exhaust with bullet mufflers.

Powerglide with 8 inch ATI converter, 4.56 gears and 14X32 mickey thompson slicks.

With low compression and a flat tappet cam last year it ran 9.80s but with the jump in compression and a roller this year and fixing several other problems I hope it runs mid 9's

okay Rumblefish,
best of 9.2's on street tires and stock suspesion, all motor...69' Dart @ 3313 lbs
and in case no one believes this, rumble has a pair of dirty underwear to prove it !:toothy10:

498 13.5-1 / indy 440-1 (very flowed!) 725 roller cam, 1190 dominator,
one Big mistake... Stock block (moparmisfits will attest to that) was weak link...
had 5 years of major street abuse and uncountable track passes and then Big BOOOOMM
2 rods and pistons completly out of block

so I would do this combo again just use a mega block !

Not an 8 sec. car, best 1/4 et is 9.13 with a 5.78 eighth mile et. The best eighth mile et is 5.72, which should equate to 9.0's but not in the 8 second zone. Cam is Comp 650 324 with 1.5 rockers on race gas.

Well here goes.....
I finally got my 2750 # 69 Dart out and made a couple of shake down runs a few weeks ago . I drove and lifted to a 1st time down the track 10:40 @116 . Next pass was a 9.75 @ 139.20 when I foot braked to around 3000 and kept my foot in it . Later in the day I went a 9.84 @138.99 . Unfortunately the air wasn`t good at a virtual elevation of 3450' (85deg / 78%Rh). My engine trans combo as follows:
4.38 bore / 4.165 stk. KB block
MP Hemi heads
.750 roller cam , Milodon G/D
Barton Intake , Gary Williams 1050
2 1/4" Hooker headers
MSD Billet dizzy
JW 'Glide , flywheel ,bell housing /adapter , converter
4.10:1 Dana 60

The chassis was stiff and I also did not use my trans brake , I`ve loosened up the suspension for the next outing , hopefully this weekend . And weather permitting a cooler day . I`ll keep y`all posted !

Ok let's try this:
1973 Dart Sport, all chassis car, strange front suspension, dana 60 4 link, fiberglass fender, bumpers, trunk, doors, etc, that weights 2770 with me in it, running 4.88 gears.
Motor:
400 Chrysler block with alum Main caps, stroked to 511ci, with bushed lifter bores and push rod oiling (this is a not a filled block), with 13.5/1 compression.
Ported B-1 heads, with Jesel 1.7 rockers Comp Chevy double taper 7/16 push rods (NOTE: adding Jesel to this setup added 97hp on the dyno)
Cam is by Comp and is an 834 roller
Transmission, is a Rossler Translock turbo 400 with a 6000 stall
B-1 Intake by Koffels and a 1050 dominator

Motor has 867hp on the dyno and was built by P&M Performance racing engines in Jacksonville NC, www.gofastmotors.com You can see the motor on this website during the dyno run by clicking on shop tour then on dyno demo.

This car is a consistant 5.48 to 5.51 car, with a 1.21 60ft in the 1/8 mile but has never run the quarter mile with this setup. I did have a 451 stroker and it ran a 9.01 at Darlington SC one time, but had a 5.13 gear in the rear and hit the rev limiter just before the lights.

My 68 Dart 9.50 car
Engine has been at the machine shop for a while.
When it goe's back in this winter it will be a sub 9 sec ladder bar car.

Used to be a gold Swinger with a 6, now a tube chassis 25.4 certified street legal beast that has run 8.23 at 159 at Houston. Still working on the nitrous tune.
That is one SERIOUS HEMI !!! SUPeR nice car!!!

Did I get the count correct only one small block in the 9 second range?? apparently it is ALOT easier to get a big block in the 9's or is there just more guys running BB???

Hemidart528,
Call steve smith with Nitrios solutions.
He tunes and blueprints big kits if you want it spot on.
He's 5-6 against the Shiek at his own tracks in pro mods.

It may be a bit more difficult to make a small block run into the 9's due to cylinder heads. Although there are "many" out there now, that was not the case just 15 years ago! Enough said about that.
