sorry to hear that the internet tough guys decided to pick on you ...thats sad when that happens.

i get that a lot on the internet and in person ....for me its a constant "you cant work on cars .....your a GIRL!!"

but like you, i know what i can do and what i want to do on a car ...i had a mentor and went to auto school and i am what i am.

you look like a guy that no one would mess with in person ...and you can see in my avatar why they still pick on me even in person.......but thats why all have our own drums to march to.

your cars look great :thumleft:
thanks and keep it up, any young person guy or girl into older american muscle cars or drag cars at any level is cool with me got to keep the tradition alive i realey cant stand the tuner cars the just dont look cool or sound cool imo.

reality is, your the one talking smack behind the keyboard. you want to talk cars, talk cars.

im putting my spare together with the parts i have laying around 850 also, gonna be 80 primary with 4.5 power valve and 84 inthe back probably with a 4.5 power valve to jet it up my motor is far from stock and i have a victor with a 2 in spacer and a n20 plate a lot of rise there if my new combo is to rich i will swap it out thats why i test and tune.

Why do I always miss all the fun?

I've built a bunch of stroked SBCs, but really loved my 327s the most. They always seemed to be a way happier and aggressive engine.
When it comes to stroking a small block, a 4" arm in a SBM is a way more distinctive difference than the 383 Chevy. YMMV.

dont think you know you know the whole story here, id love to meet a few of these guys in person.

i have a confession: i like chevys ...but know nothing about them and dont have anything chevy .......they are dang good lookers .......if i ever got back into racing i would use an early Nova or Chevy 2.....kinda looks like a valiant

i had an El camino long time ago but i traded it for a B-body but it would have made a cool car.........*****ducking*****

at least im not into tuners or jap cars :geek:BWAHAHHAHA

all my stuff is imported from Detroit :D

I know where your coming from, you like to figure things out yourself, like myself. just keep your cool and only take advise that works for you.
it's your ride and I know you will get it in the 10s. you have a good combo.
enjoy the fruit of your labor.

That is what happens when you don't listen to the advise you asked for from guys that know their stuff and know their stuff big time!
Dude im the first to admit im no master machanic or engine tuner or drag car fabractor i know the quaility of my stuff is sub par to many and i respect guys with big dollar stuff and in this game thats what it takes dollars i do the best i can with what i got some people never even get this far. im not one of those check book guys who just buy the best of everything and hire the best caraftsmen for the job then just turn the key and put gas in the thing, i finance it by working hard as a commercial union painting foreman i build it on my back under jackstands in a small 15x25 rented bay and drive it to best of my abilities im not about to empty my 401k just to be one of the elite mopar snobs, it is what it is.

Rani, them early Novas make killer drag cars. The problem is that they are far worse to get there than our beloved A bodies. Do-able, but you have to rework everything. (I know, weird, huh?). I can show you how to make an early Elky competitive, though. :D

You have a 401K? Dude, you are way ahead of me....

I have read a few of your threads and am confused as to where you come up with the check book turnkey thing? Read the build threads here and you will see tons of amazing work done by regular folk who get things done with what they got and with the help of their friends.

From what I've been reading, I think I know what you're missing.

I say you **** can the 440 or whatever is in the duster and throw that blown bowtie in it
wow thats a first but i dont like to bastardize things why does it have to be oneway or the other i love my chevy but i also love my 440 duster for god sakes ive been obsessed with the duster project for 2 years now, once again i like many 60 -70s hot rods and i love bikes and 80s heavy metal bands and vintage drag racing into cool stuff thats all, im beating a dead horse here the site is named for a bodies only and these guys mean only i realy cant be that closed minded gonna give this site a break sure i wont be missed perrfer to work on cars, race, go to concerts than sit here and bla bla bla bla anyway.

I understand what it's like to construct/build something with limited resources. I see your passion, it's a good thing:thumrigh:. And like I said in the closed thread, I could get "John Force" like at times, especially at the race track. Just don't take everything too seriously here. These really are some good guys. I hope you get the Duster dialed in soon. Like I said in my PM the other day, keep me posted.

Not taking sides or defending anyone, but the number of thanks under your avatar, tells me your a good man.

For the purpose of????? Now who is the one chest pounding?? Just saying.....

Spent many a weekend years ago at Island Dragway with a neighbor

View attachment Ted Razmus.jpg

Ran mid-high 9's with a 377" small block & a glide. They do indeed make great drag cars......
