Cleaned the buggy up today for what I hope will be a good weekend of cruising.. Realized I hadnt posted a pic after the super stock springs went in.. the buggy has a nice subtle (yet noticeable) rake to her now...

beautuful .....pure beauty :prayer::prayer:

Looks good Bill, nice and clean !.

And I like that it's not so squatty like stock. ( a lot of guys prefer the low look..... But I'm all about muscle with a rake to it).

Good job, looks great!

Thanks dude. Yea i have always been a fan of rake. Doesn't have to be crazy amounts of it. Just enough to give it attitude. And I personally think the Darts just look better with a little rake

Went to a show at a local church yesterday..Weather was beautiful, and my wife, who blew her knee out 3 weeks ago, decided she had had enough being laid up, decided to come along... Gimped and all... Was a great day hanging with my gang of friends..

Still loving the stance since the super stock springs went in.. even Monica likes the way it rides better now... So glad I made that upgrade..

At any rate, heres a couple of pics.. by now I am sure you are all growing tired of buggy ****, but she was looking particularly sexy to me in the morning sunlight, so... had to snap a few pics.

enjoy...

Where did you get the Springs from? and they are super stock springs?

The buggy looks good Bill! Was there a lot of Mopar's st the show?

Thank ya... eh... there was only a little over 100 cars at that show.. (there was the threat of pop up showers,.. so that scared off the 'afraid of the rain' crowd) there were probably about 15-20 Mopars there..

I like the rake SS springs give cars, I have them in my 66....BTW, car looks great Bill!!

Looks good Bill!

them SS springs sure did it justice too. not sitting low enough to look like grandmas car but not so jacked up that it looks top heavy lol. looks like she is sitting just right!.

Thank you gentlemen... yea i have to agree, she sits just right.. now when I finally get around to switching to 255/60/15's on the back she'll have just a touch more rake than she does now... I am just glad I dont have to hold her *** up with air shocks anymore and have that basketball ride... theres only 10 pounds or so of air in the shocks, just enough to inflate them.. (manufactuar recommends running 'some' air in them at all times) ...

Lookin' good Bill! I'm planning on hitting the Irwin cruise Saturday 5/25. Are you?

Thanks Harry, I am not sure yet whats going on Saturday.. I have to have the Dart at my daughters house in Monroeville Sat morning so my grandson can have his 1st birthday pics taken with the car (my daughters request... brought a tear to my eye lol) and theres a show in Jeannette in the afternoon.. its a fairly good possibility that I'll be down Hills Saturday night.. even without the car... I may come down just to look around.. Hopefully we run into each other there

BTW Bill, in your pictures....that line up of cars is a nice color spectrum. Looks like a bag of skittles haha

So... Finally managed to bring home the eventual new heartbeat of the buggy last week. My good buddy Mr B. is real good friends with the guy that owned this motor and tranny.. I have met him a couple of times and hes a real cool dude.. Has a 62 (I believe) Dodge Polara.. Sweet car..

At any rate, he had this 360 and 727 done for that car a long time ago.. ran it for a while, and decided to go in another direction.. wanted to go big block.. so, out the small block came and stored in his garage it was for the next 25 years LOL .. Said it ran like a raped date when he pulled it. Couldnt remember everything that had be done to it... Its nothing radical, but more on the order of fun for me.. .30 over, Crowler cam, Rhoads lifters (Im sure I am spelling all that wrong) couldnt remember the exact cam numbers.. torker intake, J heads.. Should be a spunky bastard... 727 was redone, with a reverse pattern manual shift valve body, 3,000 stall speed converter..

Im gonna tear her down somewhat over the next few months, re-gasket it, have things gone over, clean her up, paint it a nice shade of Hemi orange, drop her in a have some fun... My goal is to have all that done and do the motor swap this winter.. when she comes out next season, she should have a little lump and be a bit spunkier.. LOL .. I cant wait.. just figured I'd share the news..

And so the buggy thread continues... stay tuned...

Wooooooohooooooo new goodies!.

I imagine when the majority of the project was finished you had free time you didn't know what to do with. This will help fill that void and keep you busy. And is enjoyable work (not pain staking work like body work lol.

Im the same way,not really looking for an all out race car. Just enough to make for a spunky and respectable cruiser.

As always I'll be keeping tabs on the thread Bill!.

funny thing is I paid for this motor and tranny last winter... but with the weather being all nasty, neither of us wanted to move the cars outside in order to load up the stuff at his place, and unload it at my garage.. So we waited for warmer weather and whenever our schedules would free up...

Then my wife hurt her knee and hasnt worked in a couple months, I was afraid the motor and tranny would have to go before I ever got it.. (heck for a couple weeks, I was beginning to question whether I would even be able to hang on to the Dart) .. but luckily thanks to selling some other stuff I had, and some help from our family, we should be able to get through until shes healed up and back to work.. and the buggy (and her new heartbeat) will be staying right where they are ...
