Lol, what did you guys do John?
don't even ask about leaving the bloated dead pig dragged in the city square.....or stealing pumkins....or the night he spent jailed in Sylvania, Ohio as a robbery suspect......just to name a few,
Lol, what did you guys do John?
I'm confident that had been made out of gold anodized acid dipped titanium, he would have closed it forthwith.Joe gets up out of his folding chair and cant seem to figure out how to close it......
Right on Mike...
and it was a pleasure to meet you in person. Thanks for stopping by the tent.
Great fun with great people. No matter what is said about The Nats fading and loosely organized, it still has so many good things about it. I can say from a few years of experience that The Nats is something I look forward to from year to year. We (the group I go with) are already making plans for next year and so looking forward to the 20 hour round trip to make it happen again. The friends that were made and the stories told in the posts above are what it's all about. The cars we collect are just the common detonator that brings us all together. Looking forward to seeing you next year. tmm
Man, I am on some boards where this event was trashed to hell and back,,,golf carts hitting people...some folks are calling it the golf car 500, people with passes not being let in, and it goes on..what I am hearing is that Carlisle is a lot better organized and better follow through with the rules....
With this many people / cars, you have to have organization and rules..that need to be followed...as well as a knowledgeable staff...or it is anarchy...
Not on my bucket list...
Blah blah blah, Carlisle is better than this, Carlisle is better than that!! Is the racing better?? Oh wait, they don't offer racing!! Is the nightlife better?? Oh wait, there is none! The parts selection?? Parts are parts, no matter where you buy them! I sold every part I took to the Nats!! Would I do that at Carlisle?? Not gonna drive 10 hours to find out! Why would I, all you guys are at the Nats!!!
As for it not being like it was 20 years ago...neither is my haircut, my sex life, or....well, you get the picture! Enjoy it for what it is, not what it used to be!!

One of my favorite times of the weekend was Saturday night when Joe and Lynn were getting ready to call it a night....... Joe gets up out of his folding chair and cant seem to figure out how to close it.....I'm watching and after a few seconds I say to Joe....... "So you helped build the Wire Car but cant close a lawn chair!" He just dropped it and said "that was a long time ago" I swear to God I laughed (along with everyone else) so hard I thought I was going to piss myself.

We had such a good time that we are very seriously thinking of doing the 5600mile round trip again next year!
