CAP AFB 4bbl cars slso had 3 step metering rods under 'dimpled' covers.
65 pcv hose and air cleaner.
It was not for PCV, but the breather on the valve cover. Look closely at some of the pictures.
Curious what carb that is that would have a big vacuum port out the front for pcv??
Hmm. I see, so the 66 carbs didn't have the master air/idle/mix adjust screw up front. Thanks for clearing that up Mike. I didn't realize the 66s was when Carter changed on the carbs.
On the left side of that first mopar muscle pic, it is a pcv valve running from the passenger side of the engine to the front of the carb. The breather is on the drivers side. So the question remains, what is the carb?
All original AFB's on Commando /Charger engines have PCV port on the front, except 65 where the Idle adjustment is. I thought we were still talking about air cleaners...
As far as I can find out the Chrome air cleaner only came with out tube. I believe the ones we see with tube is simply a slant 6 cleaner that was chromed. Im might be wrong but the pics I have seen of these restored 273s leaves a lot of questions. 67 valve covers on one so the proof of pics of these restored cars is lacking. The fuel lines are incorect on most so Im not buying the tube is a CAP on chrome air cleaners. Need more proof IMO.

Here's one. All the HP engines had chrome air cleaners. The 2 barrel engines had the black air cleaners with a snorkel. The black unsilenced cleaners were used on slant 6's and big blocks.
This is correct.. All they (Chrysler) did was chrome an existing designed air cleaner for the 273 4BBL ...
