Post your mini tubbed wheel and tire combos

Factory b body rear end (yes, stock factory B width) . 15 x 10 inch wide weld draglites. 8 inches backpacking. 26x10 mickey Thompson et. Drags.

Why?!? Don't rely on what others have done. Your car is different. If I tell you what size I used on my wheels and rear end and it doesn't fit your car, you're gonna be pissed.

I'm not out to mimic what you've done with your wheel combo just interested in reading on all the different applications everyone's gone with ....

I think he is just looking for reference? Not to copy a set up. Just like my oddball Setup with alot of backspacing and a B body rear...I just figured I would throw mine out there so someone else would know you dont have to chop down a B body rear if you measure backspacing properly...i don't expect anyone to seek out a B body rear end just because I have one.

Lame. Unless you've got your combo down to a 1/4" you can definitely benefit from seeing what others have done.

I made a spreadsheet of tire combos from the other wheel/tire combo thread and used it to figure out I could fit 295's on my duster with stock wheel tubs and a 1/2" spring offset. Did I still measure my car? Absolutely! And I definitely tell people that I only have a bit more than a 1/4" from my tires to my springs and it won't work on every car that left the factory.

But that doesn't mean that knowing what others have done can't help you.

Sorry you thought my post was lame, but that's how I feel. My point was, measure YOUR car and determine what will fit. Why rely on other people to tell you? And how can they tell you unless they come to your house and measure your car for you?!? Again, I don't care if someone copies my set up, but I don't want them to be disappointed when it doesn't work on their car.

I would be interested in seeing this spreadsheet, I think it could help myself and others from going in the wrong direction and while general still good for ideas on what might work and what won't. Ie: 3" inboard, 1/2 kit, minitubs etc. for those of us still in the planning stages.

Sorry you thought my post was lame, but that's how I feel. You made a spreadsheet up of other people's tire and wheel combo's. That sounds pretty lame to me.

I think your post was "lame" because the OP asked for wheel combo's and you came back with "Why?!?". Who cares? He wanted to know.

These cars are different, but they aren't that different. Unless you have a really spectacular example of a Monday morning or Friday afternoon car, they're usually within a 1/4". I made a spreadsheet of other peoples wheel and tire combo's because it allowed me to figure out almost exactly how much clearance I needed to run the wheel and tire combo I wanted. You know, before I spent $2k+ on rims and tires? And it had very little to do with the actual amount of space under the car.

Simply measuring won't tell you everything. Sure, it will tell you if a certain combo will physically fit in the stock wheel tub, but it doesn't tell you that 5/16" is all you need to the springs, but a 1/4" won't work. Or that a 1/2" can work on the quarters if you don't have a lot of body roll. But people that run that amount of clearance can, even if they don't have the same size wheels. Because everyone runs different size tires with different backspacing. A guy running 225/60/15's with 3.5" of backspace can tell me as much about clearance as a guy running 275's, maybe more. I couldn't find anyone that was running 295's on 18's on a lowered Duster , but I still figured out that I could do it, and confirmed it with my own measurements.

And seeing what is possible gives you ideas. So, why not?

Seriously, back to the topic. Someday I may want to mini-tub my car! :D

Here's some info from 72BBswinger since I haven't seen him post here yet. He runs 335's on his Dart...

18x9 F 6.45bs + Dr. Diff rotors + 3/8" spacer, 18x12 R 9.2"bs on a 67 B body rear axle. The rears were 18x10 7.2"bs on a stock A body rear and fit pretty much perfect.

post pictures along with your setups. Nice topic, btw.

15x10 wheels with 3 1/2" backspace. S60 rear end housing width 44 1/8" mini tubbed and springs moved into the frame rails. I have about a 1/2" of clearance on the outside and almost an inch on the inside with 325/50R15 tires (28"). Now, go put that in your spreadsheet or anywhere else you want to stick it.

325/50/15. Rear width I don't recall off the top off my head. 5.5" backspace

2" narrowed with wildwood disc/mock up 15x10 with 4.5 bs/325-50-15 mh racemasters/control freak triangulated 4 bar/at set ride height .The rear rims are gonna' be replaced to match the fronts, but my measurements show I can go with 5.5 bs, so I might experiment with 15x12 with 390's

That kinda sounded a little RUDE...

I have RMS rear kit with 20x10 285/30/20, 7.4 back spacing on a stock abody housing. I have more room on the inside of the tire to get another 1" or 2" of wheel and tire.

What crawled up your ***?!?! 426 dart is just interested in what guys have done to their A bodies. I'm sure as hell 426 dart can do a WAY better job than what you threw in the table, you act like everyone is trying to bite of your dart.
