What happens when you're an asshole

-
I'm just glad that I'm going on 62 and have left that ***hole stage behind. I'm mister mellow now (just ask me) :steering:

Too much contradiction in your post, you say B/E body folks don't have attitudes....then go and say A body guys have the same attitude B/E body guys have.....you like to soap box a lot, I see this often in your posts, you have a slight complex with 318 vs 360/340.its okay though....no one is trying to judge you.

in regards to the issue you brought up....I don't care what cid motor anyone has, they are all cool mopar mills imo.... but when someone asks me to build for them, I only care to give them the best bang for their buck, period, and if more cubes cost the same and give the result the customer is looking for....that's what I'm doing.
Wrong. I said "I" have friends with B/E bodies and they ("they" being my friends) aren't stuck up at all. Read what is written, not what you want to read. I have no complex at all with any mopar, and I agree that the 360 is a better choice over a 318 given they are both the same condition and close in price. Shoot, I'd even pay more to get the 360.
It is not I that soap boxes anything. But there is a "snub" here that is written in a lot of threads about the "cockyness" of E/B body owners. Some is true, but it certainly doesn't speak for all of them. And I was just pointing out that A body owners can get just as "snippy". And I can find dozens of post right here on this site to back up what I said.
By the way, from what I read in your story, the guy revved his pipes a couple of times and wasn't up for a big conversation. Rude? yes. But does revving his pipes a couple of times and not really interested in chat'n with you (after you chased him down) warrent him being cussed out and his car getting smashed? Wow! Maybe he is in a low point in his life, but who cares... right?

Since I'm on the road daily in an A body and I drive long distance, I usually ignore any old car drivers that I see. It's routine for me.
My cars are not set up for stop light wars anyway.
If someone wants to talk to me, they can start a conversation at the gas pump.
That's about it. And it's rare. Like never?
But I can tell pretty quick what kind of person it is.

I have owned more E and B bodies than A bodies and have found true mopar guys appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into any car regardless if it is an old truck, original wore out driver, or show trailer queen.

Assholes are everywhere. You are probably sitting on one right now.
Assholes at work.
Assholes at the store.
Assholes in politics.
Assholes in college.
Assholes at home.
Assholes at the strip club.
Assholes at a car show.
The trick is....don't let them affect your day. It can be difficult but you have to try.

one might think he's not an asshole, but who knows what someone else thinks. we might all be assholes.

I don't find it funny that his car got hit !
I think it's a bummer no matter if he is an asshole or not !
I don't wish that on him or his car !
I don't like d-bags like him anymore then the next guy , but would rather have him step in a pile , or have a bird drop one on him then seeing his car get wrecked !

Triggered.

Oh don't fret guy, the old buzzard had a fresh sliver paint job, probably over rust holes everywhere being its home is next to the pacific ocean.
Two idiots trolling in a sugar coated rust bucket. It's wild how many people take offence to a story, as if they were there and or if the character description somehow resembling/sharing similarities with them were intended to directly insult them.

I own a B body, does that make me an asshole???

Only if you repeatedly drive by another guy in a mopar who's peacefully eating lunch and rev your engine and then wimp out and act like a dick. hope his friend told the story to dudes wife so she can tell'em how much of asshole he is.ha ha

It is kind of funny if you take these terms literally. To call a person an asshole, I think of something that is puckered, slightly hairy and stinky. Calling a man a pussy seems strange too. Every straight guy likes them. We all want to be around them yet when a man can't go out with his buddies, he is accused of being one. Oh, and calling a man a dick? Okay, so that is like saying that YOU get taller when you are excited and are capable of giving life and pleasure.....Sounds okay to me.

Truthfully I was attracted to Mopars as a kid because they are the best looking cars ever built. They also had a certain mystique because they were different. The mystique has definitely worn off though. It's been the same thing for almost 50yrs,(purple cams and Mopar finned valve covers) don't excite me anymore.

On a "Mopar guy" note... things have really changed. In the 70's-80's Mopar guys spun wrenches and scoured swap meets. Since the 90's Mopar guys have been complete total assholes! Apparently all it takes now is a fat check book and a desire to thumb your nose at other car guys. Amazing how budget blue collar cars have attracted every asshole just because they're rare.

I think the exception might be abodies though. Everybody I've met on this site has been pretty cool. It won't be long though, the assholes of the world that can't afford a Charger or Roadrunner are quickly telling stories about the Swinger they had in highschool.
I raced one of the very well built b body mopars for 14 yrs., and had 4-5 more over the yrs. I now own an A body, that being said , the b bodies were more well built than the A bodies. which one do I like best? A body of course !

Dang, I always considered myself to be somewhat of an asshole. Thought it was a positive thing, ya know like sarcasm is a character strength not a flaw. Guess I need to rethink everything! :BangHead:

Maybe the guy just had a bad day. You never know what a stranger is going through. Most people in this hobby are awesome but there are definitely some elitists that think they're better than everybody else.

I just think it's better to be nice to everybody. We're all passionate about cars and whenever somebody asks about mine I will always be friendly and talk to them.

Just about all my friends are assholes at one time or other-but not me!!!

I wish i were an asshole.
They get all of the attention and i get none.
Nobody likes me.
Nobody cares about what i say or my feelings anyway.
Maybe i'll drink a case of beer and cry myself to sleep.
I guess i'm a 54 year old little *****.

Who would you rather talk to?
An asshole like you described, or a little *****?

Both are annoying in their own way.
Hey man, roll with the punches.
The most important thing is the fun you have with your car, the pride of ownership and screw what other people say, think, or do.........
You'll be a lot better off!
(A sense of humor goes a long way too!)

Some folks may not like this, but it's not that A bodies have less quality. It's the cars built around 67 A bodies, and 68 B Bodies. I have a 64 Sport Fury, and owned a 69 Coronet 500. The quality was way down from the 64. First thing you notice is the later doors sound like a tuna can when you shut them. My 69 340 swinger is the same. That doesn't mean I don't like them, cause I do. It's just my 64 just overall feels much more solid.
