Another before and after comparison.

ba ba ba bad to the bone! the only other thing I would do - put the chrome ends on the scoops - I really think it would tie it up nicely..

When I got this old beater it had the chrome trim on the scoops but one of them was broke. Since we were building on a budget for resale I shaved the scoops and now it's not possible to add the (factory) trim back.
Really nice! The fun never ends, does it?
If my love of cars and tinkering with them ever ends... I'll probably be on my death bed. Things with wheels have been my downfall since I was a little kid, pretty sure it's a sickness. lol

I've been doing a little work to the Demon here and there. I made a trans mount for the TR6060 and modified the crossmember for strength. The Hemi and trans fit in nice and snug with everything high and tight.

I used parts from the 2010 pedals added to the Demon pedals.
I cut off the clutch pedal return arm and spring from the 71 pedals and made a mount for the 2010 clutch master cylinder. I reused the clutch return spring from the Challenger pedals as well as the pedal pads so they would match the Challenger gas pedal. I bought one of Andy's master cylinder relocation blocks and made a

thread on brake pedal eye for attachment to the master.
All in all I think the pedals turned out pretty slick and work well.

Nice work on the transmission tunnel and crossmember! Is that 1/8" plate you used?

Once of these days I'll have to stop driving my car for a bit and install the T56 Magnum I bought for it.

It was plate that I had laying around but I think it might have been 3/16. I've slept since then. LOL

I got in my Speedhut gauges and I'm currently redoing the firewall and making dash mods to fit in the aftermarket a/c. I want the firewall smooth and clean so everything is tore back out now.

Friggin" awesome...I really love the look of this car, I should have gone with a Gen 3 drivetrain for my build.

Are you kidding? That smallblock in your car is a masterpiece!
But then again, if you had a Hemi in yours I'm sure it wouldn't look anything like the rest or our Hemis!!

Did some work on the firewall and trans tunnel weekend. I also hung the A/C box but I forgot to get pics of that.
It's getting tight under the dash and I still have to put in my Holley Dominator EFI box and all the wiring. I think I'm going to put it in the console but since I built the new tunnel my original homemade console won't fit. Time to build a new one of those too I guess.
I bought a shifter off of eBay for the TR6060 but it didn't work. I had to make 3/8 aluminum plate to go between the new shifter mechanism and the trans. This wasn't the Core brand shifter but anther one that sells on Ebay. It's a very nice red and gold anodized unit with positive shifter stops. If you are thing about getting this shifter, beware... you will have to do a little fabrication to make it work. I will try to remember to grab more pics of this stuff next weekend just incase anyone runs into the same issues.

FWIW, I don't recommend building a new car and then redoing everything before the maiden voyage!!

Life keeps getting in the way. My wife and I have been taking care of my Mother who needs almost constant care. We have also started a another job on a 65 Impala.
That being said, I have sleeved the rear frame rails to run the exhaust out in front of the rear wheels. I smoothed the drivers side inner fender by cutting out the wire run and battery mount and replacing it with fresh flat steel. I finished the fab on the new console and added a Flaming River column.
Other than that, I haven't done much to it and I've been forgetting to get pics. I will try to post something soon but the mods that are happening now makes it seem like I'm going in reverse!

I'd definitely like to see how you sleeved the frame rails since I plan to run exhaust out in front of the rear wheels as well

I kept the sub-frame connectors (one of the few things that I kept) that where on the car when I bought it. The connectors cap over the rear frame rails. We used a 4" hole saw to drill through the connector and the frame rail then we cut an old 4" concrete boring bit to use as the inserts. Now I have room for 3" pipe to exit.
I don't know if this was a smart thing to do or not but it seems pretty strong to me.

These pics were takin before the welds were dressed and re-painted.

That's a pretty good idea I think. I'll probably run oval tubing when I do mine so there'd be more meat left above and below the hole through the frame.

I thought about that but the plasma cutter broke and a hole saw was handy. LOL
It's pretty beefy, I think it'll be OK.

You could always a add a 1/8" reinforcement plate tie the sub-frame connector to the rear spring hanger if there is any doubt.

I reinforced both side after those pics were taken. It's probably stronger now than it was before.
I figure it can't be much worse than some of the drag cars I've seen.

Btw, which model of the HDK did you go with? Is it the same one Ross is running? The LA Super Slammer?

Also, I'm planning to fab an upper crossmember/tunnel in the next month or 2 and since eventually I was go with a t-56, I wanna make sure I build it big enough now so I don't have to do it over. Would you mind pulling some measurements off your tunnel to give me an idea how big I have to go?

I'm embarrassed to say, I don't know which frontend that I bought, I do know that it has 2" dropped spindles. I just told Denny what I wanted to do and he sent me what I asked for...
I couldn't be happier with the frontend and I think I may have sold another one for him yesterday. A fellow 71 Dart owner stopped by the shop and was blown away by the quality of the build. He is very interested!!
As far as the tunnel, I'll try to remember to grab measurements on Wednesday. I'm stopping by the shop to grab the HDK frontend and have it powder coated. I'm normally only in that shop on the weekends.

guys like you (Dragger40 / Orangewagon / etc)....make guys like me....look good.

Ross has a Super Slammer, I would have to look up Dragger40's to be positive, .....there are only a half dozen LA Super Slammers out there.
