What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Need to figure out how to get them to work in our cars
The one car with power windows I have, I was told all worked. Just got it and haven't verified, but it's comforting to think they do.

Swapped out the air shocks for a set of KYB's, and yep, the springs are shot. Clunk clunk over every crack in the road. It's only money...

Went to the local airport and did a quick photoshoot. They had a few old planes there.

How do you like the lokar throttle cable? And do you remember the part number?
Love it, smoothest throttle operation I've had in years
I'll look up the part number tomorrow, but I went with the 36 incher, so there is enough material there to make 2 if need be

Flow Kooler water pump and the timing chain cover look pretty nice in black to match the block '91 LA360.

Hopefully I will be able to get the 308 heads to the machinist this week for cleaning and magnafluxing as well as some 2.02 intake valves. I am leaning towards a 30* seat over 45* seat.

Depending on the roller lifters rollers, if the rust is just surface and can be cleaned up, I'll stick with a hydraulic roller cam. If they are trash, I'll just run a solid flat tappet and be real careful-like on the break-in.

Also got the water pump pulley and harmonic damper bead blasted last week. Looking at the sandwiched rubber in the damper, I am probably just going to replace it.

4 days of rain and a decent day today, only HOT and muggy. 2 Mopars show up of 125 cars. Both got awards. Love seeing Mopars steal some awards from the Chevy/Ford crowd!

A very Nice 69 drop top GTX black on black got a top 10, and our Barracuda earned BiS.

Playing... With a pinion snubber ... Adjustable... ( And heat dissipating T6061 ) for my 65 Cuda... 273 Commando... Doing if for Fun mind you...

Will rase it up slowly... Till I get the "feel" I like.... A similar one Many Years ago worked well on my 63 Valiant with 340 4 speed. That turned very low 11's at Suffolk Raceway... God, I Miss those days...

Ordering an alternator, died in the middle of nowhere, but a cute young blonde gal picked me up! Found out how long I can drive on my battery for, approximately 85 miles. The Walmart battery I bought made it the 76 miles to home, thankfully. Still managed to pick up a set of slots with help from true friends.

Oh, I also replaced a trunk release switch (in the center brake light) on my girlfriend's 2012 Charger. Thing was pooping open the trunk at any time, and caused the dash lights to come on at any time also. One of the granddaughters helped me.

Well about 5 months of body work, yesterday, the car went under the gun. I think it turned out well, wet sand and buff, did I ever tell you how much I enjoyed sanding.........

I thrashed on my truck and car all day today, started at 6:30 this morning and just crawled into bed at 12:30. Got the seats all put back in the car along with the floor padding and vinyl flat mat. The car is WAY quieter!! Cars all loaded up and ready to go to the Nats in the morning! Better get some sleep! 3am is rapidly approaching!! :BangHead:

Just doing the regular benchracing with my self and trying to figure out the direction i want to take with the car.Been of the road for way to long and cant get the things i need to do done due to weather so im stuck thinking of what to do for an engine once the rustrepairs are done.
Got a 340 with fresh .030 over bores, ported Edelbrock rpm 340 heads, some old ported J-heads a couple stock forged cranks,Eagle H-Beam rods, stock 340 rods,a edelbrock tunnelram,a few different carbs including a E85dominator, Airgap intakemanifold, a billet intakemaniold that needs a few more odds and ends, a lysholm 3.3L twinscrew,a dead 904 transmission with a fresh custom 3500rpm converter, some 1 7/8" TTI smallblock headers and Hooker 1 3/4"supercomps. XR280R cam. Old Crane gold rockers...Two sets of solid roller lifters.

Its a bunch of parts that could result in a variety of things but in need of new pistons with balancing and possibly a bunch of milling on the heads if it stays NA and stock stroke,it needs a new oilpan,it could realy use all new studs or atleast bolts since they have been stretched countless times and who knows how long those ancient rockers wants to stay alive.
Or it could be turned into a stroker for not much more money, but at that point: do i keep my H-beams and get a forged crank and pistons or take the easy way out and get a a complete forged piston/castcrank Scat kit do i go with the dishpistons and alitle to low compression unless milling the heads or the flattops that will put me on the edge of pumpgascompression with the cam i have?
Oh it needs a flexplate to.
And the usual suspected endless amount of other small odds and ends.
Also that broken half bolthole on the rear of the block do i just ignore it again and just run a big washer or do i create a new corner with some chemical metal?
Or do i go retard as was originaly planed all those years ago and put that twinscrew on that poor 340? Or do i go absolute full retard and put that screw ontop of that poor 340 with a stroker crank aswell?
Or will i just sell that 340 to someone who realy wants a 340 for it being a 340 and start selling of smallblock parts and start looking for a 5.7Hemi or do i start to look for a bigblock?
Ok this ended up a long post with just some of the options of what goes thru my head regarding what to do with the engine part of my build since i cant get the things i want to do done and that means im stuck benchracing..

Got the fuel cell cage all welded up. Still got to make all the patterns for the aluminum wrap. Cut and do the bead rolling.

The cage is made from 34 peices of thin wall 1x1, most of them mitere cut. 34 pieces, eight welds on each one. 34x8=272 welds....... GOD DAM, what a pain in my ***.... I cant believe I didn't warp the hell out of it. I did super small welds and bounced around to keep it cool.

Still gotta put in some nut certs for the straps and studs for the fuel pump and filter. I'm gonna have days of work into something no one will ever even see...
