Stop in for a cup of coffee

Oh I know one day is not enough time. We plan on coming back for a few years so we will eventually see it all.
I have an interest in the Civil War. I had relatives that fought on both sides. I've visited a couple larger Civil War battlefields.
I've also watched nearly every Gettysburg documentary made in the last 30 years.
I really look forward to our visit.

Well got to go. Another wife's social club or one of the many organizations she serves on their board of directors xmas party.
We've been out six out of the last seven nights for these things or a grand kids xmas concert. Too many.
We have four more to do....ugh!!
I need a drink!!

I have been working on colorizing an old photo. This one took me about 4 hours to finish. I think it came out pretty well...

So,... luckily the Christmas music I expected right after Thanksgiving did not actually start till yesterday. I heard 'Santa Baby' At least 4 times in a shift. I realize there's a few versions of it and I don't know which one(s) were played. Could have been 4 diff for all I know. That's just one example. Many other repeaters.

Dang, it's cold out. 25 degrees with a hard wind from the northwest ...

I feel the cold in my bones so I am not doing anything today, just laying in bed trying to warm up.

Uggghhhh winter is horrible, I should be outside right now, running through green grass in short sleeves and driving the fury around the yard.

This one will be my next colorizing project, but it’s a bit more complex to make it right...

Menards has Valvoline on sale. 10/30 conventional was $2.99 a quart (limit 12 per purchase) with a rebate cupon for $1.00 off per quart. $1.99 a quart is good for me. I need to read the fine print and make sure I can go back tomorrow for 12 more at that price.

What surprised me was the distance those old weapons had. The flint locks....

I love driving in LA. So much that I waited for a day with torrential downpours just to make it more enjoyable :BangHead:. I think Pasadena drivers take extra stupid pills when it rains too. Good to be home.

In the 18th century, artillery could carry far beyond the range it could be effectively aimed. But a century later, the effective range of both artillery and muskets was much greater. Rifling and better projectiles made a huge difference whever terrain was so favorable such as a Cemetery Ridge.
Barely a decade earlier
Half a league, half a league, ...into the valley of death rode the six hundred
