I agree but it wouldn't be as cool.

Jeremy I was wondering what size front wheels and tires you run on your Duster ? Also are you racing at No Problem division race on the 1st of March ?The 360 combo will run very well. I have a friend running one and it is very fast, but it's true the 340 is a better combo at the present rated horsepower.
Jeremy , sorry to hear that, hope you get well soon and your money gets back to what you are used to having. thanks for answering my question, if ya don't mind I have another question about your car , what headers do you use ? Hope for maybe some good air in Houston and get that record back !I have a 15x4 front front wheels with 28 tire.
Won't be able to make No Problem this year. I have made th race many times since they opened. I had medical and cash problems the last couple years.
Had the National record there in 2017 but a friend from New Jersey bet me out by a hundredth of a second.
Thanks Jeremy, so you have two stockers ? Does the 440 6 pack Charger fit in D/S ? Are both of your cars Dusters ?I use Performance Welding stainless steel headers there really nice, a work of art. I have them on both cars.
NICK RITTER with a 440 6 pack charger bested me for the record at No Problem I did have a higher MPH than he did though.. But I did defeat him at the Dallas Nationals a few weeks before where I won class.
I hope to be. Able to race again next year or sooner.
Yes I know Jeff Tuton and Sid Bonnecarrie well, but haven't been up that way for 15 years, turned some wrenches on those Hemi cars and the Duster and the trucks back at that time , Eventually I made it in the engine Room, lol ,but never in the Dyno when they were dyno race hemis and other race motors, very few got to go in there. lolYes,i have 2 cars the Challenger and the Duster that are near each other in the posts.
Don't know Jeff I don't think but I do have lots of friends from that area. (Jeff Tuton, Ryan Becnal, Allen Sherman, Kevin Helms and many others.
Yes the Charger is in the same class.
I too have had a keen interest in the class, just never had the money to get into it..............
That's interesting. I talked to a stocker at Mopars at the strip about the 360 and the 340. He runs a 71 340.
And he told me the 360 had a little more bottom and had a tendency to break things before the 340 did.
I guess I'll find out the hard way. Either way I wanted to race stockers since I was a teenager.

A good Superstock car cost alot more than a Stock car.FWIW, my Duster runs set of 1 3/4 tube Stahl headers with one tube running out the wheelwell. Prior to me owning car it has run these headers in stock, and superstock. I also now have a set of Hooker 5303 headers to try on the superstock engine. 1 7/8 tubes.
Don't know. I do know Stahl headsrs are very good. I have run them before and liked them but you can't get them anymore.
I just wanted to to make a point for and of my friends on here who might want to race stock.
1. a 1971 carb.will make more power than a 1972 or newer carb.
2. a Dakota oil pan will make more power than a regular 318/340/360 oil pan. The Dakota pan can be put on a A-body but it may not be easy.

I have one of the specific Dakota pans with pickup, it fits an A body. If anyone is interested let me know. As I recal it is a 91 pan only that works..
A 71 340 has more valve and more compression that the 72-73. Or does the carb itself make more power everything else being the same.
What Dakota oil pan will work on an A body?
The 71 carb will make more power on either engine, not a lot around 5 or 10 if there both carbs are very good.
I have Mike Slabeck at Sherman racing engines 713 477 4430 do what machine work I have done and the flow work, balancing, Dyno work, valve jobs ECT at Shermans/Trumbles Shop I do as much as I can myself.
A Dakota pan that will fit a 340 are very hard to find, but I have machined a 340 rear main cap to a 360 sizes and the 360 Dakota pan will fit then.
I assemble everything myself.
There's not much difference between a Chevy sb and a mopar sb but you have to be careful who's doing the work. There are a few differences.

No, the rear sump won't clear the steering linkage on most cars, that's why I said it can be done but its not easy. one of many reasons why race cars are very hard to build.
Biggest problem I think with the small block mopar (compared to Chevy anyway) is the crazy push rod angle to the rocker arms, you have to do something to compensate for the problems this causes.
