Its weird because when I was in auto school I thought a grand was a **** ton of money.
Yet now a day's, i still think It is ...... but not really.
I used to buy some ghetto tools and stuff, thinking I couldn't afford new or nicer stuff.
Tire machine is no different. I have been searching for a tire machine but I have been thinking cheap.
Now I am wondering If it would be worth it to pony up more dough and get a new one that no one else has used and maybe abused.
I found this today on cl..... what do you guys think.

A brand I've never heard of. You would be better with one from Greg Smith Equipment. At least they have a dozen stores through the states and they're good to their customers.
I had a beat up coates given to me. A few parts to get it up and running and its served me well. I have 300 into it.
Balancer i got barely used for 600. Cheap.
I hate tires.
Think im going to change my mind,$500 for a 30 year old machine may be a bad investment.

True. It may have been hardly used. Was in a body shop/frame shop. But its 30 plus years old,and way obsolete.

Sometimes I really wonder about some of the people on this forum.
I mean, why is it necessary to respond to someone else’s post by first insulting them personally and then proceeding to be self-righteous and indignant to make your point.

It's not right but a lot of people post while drunk or pissed off about something else or a number of other factors unrelated to the site and then bring it here and take it out on an annoying post
So i talked myself out of a ticket earlier.
Around 4 PM rush hour. I was the first car off a red light. I looked in the mirror and there was a huge crowd behind me and totally open in front being the first one at the light.
So I sped up to put some space between me and the tail gater behind me in a big ***, ugly *** Toyoda non jedi SUV and relieve some of the congestion by getting out of the way.
So the tail gater and the car behind him get in the turning lane. There was a sheriff deputy 4 cars back so when the tail gater and the one behind him turned, it put the deputy behind me. I was going 60 in a 50.
So he lights it up and on the side of the road, he asks "60 in a 50 what's your rush" I explained everything above. He checked my ID and checked the papers on the car. Then he says, "that is actually a good reason." Be careful ma'am.
He was in a good mood with a lot of smiles so that might be why he went easy on me. Kinda put me in a good mood.

I converted a car to electronic ignition last week and when I went to time it...... my old light seems to have stopped working

I'm sure excess alcohol, or drugs may bring out the worst in a few. There's a couple here it may just a part of the posting style - and maybe that's how they deal with people in real life too.
I think its hard for many to respond to queries totally dispassionately. When a person has invested x amount of dollars and/or time, they want to believe its something really good. For themselves sure, because that's a personal decision. But by promoting for others there's a degree self confirmation. Others have phrased this better but I think you get where the emotional involvement comes from.
And there's always some folks who just are in a rut needing drama in their lives. Sad but very common.

Today didnt go as planned, but im happy my buddy’s daughter was there to see exactly what was getting fixed on her truck. She’s a smart kid and understood the whole process.
The dealer had the front end apart and deliberately did not address the sticking brakes.
Others think its normal, and is their only form of communication.

And is this just a plain 'ole Chrysler ECU?
