I recently started a thread that was intended to be a chuckle about a youtuber having a resemblance to a famous person.

It was a joke but I see now that it was an inappropriate joke so I'm sorry.

I never intended it to be an anti gay thing. It was simply two people who look a like to me. When it started being about gays and morality, I didn't even know how to reply.

The thread was removed at my request because I didn't mean for that to happen, it was a total brain chip malfunction.
Please forgive me fabo, I am going to stick to car tech.
 
I figured out right quick that you meant it as a resemblance thing, and not otherwise. You're a good person Rani, so just keep being you! None of us can control how others will devolve most any kind of thread we may start. :realcrazy:
 
I never saw the thread, so really can't make an informed comment on it. However, I will say that as JD noted, we can't control how others will interpret or misinterpret what we originally intended to say. The fact that you felt responsible and requested it be removed says a great deal about your personality, all of it very positive. It seemed a little bit out of the ordinary for you, you made the right move. Mad props to you.
 
Honestly no one likes getting old but I’m glad I lived in a time where we didn’t have to watch every little thing we said or did in fear of offending someone. 33 years as s Millwright in a steel mill we did and said some crazy stuff. Heck I showered with 18 other naked guys and at least another 12 waiting to get in to shower. The weak could never survive that yet alone what we did on a 8-16 hour workday.
 
people these days are pussies. if they experienced life in the 70's and 80's they would have been so offended they would have shot themselves
 
Ya we didn’t get a trophy for doing our weekly chores around the house. We had winners and losers. If you lost you tried harder next time to be a winner.
 
It takes a humble person to ask for forgiveness.

Some things can be taken entirely the wrong way, not the way it was intended.

It is also Christmas day, so I am quite sure you will be forgiven by the man upstairs. ;-)

Why deleted? Why not just locked? There was no name calling? People showing their opinions and true colors.

I saw no need to post an apology. But it does speak well for the one that did. Pittsburghracer is 100% correct and I agree with him 100%.

Then you know what I’m talking about. Lol. We had a guy acting up causing some issues so right after he stripped down for his shower we gave him a blanket party and took a rag full of “cactus greese” to his balls. He straightened out after that.

If RRR did not censor it must not have been too awful bad! He is very sensitive we all know.

People's feeling? In the olden days where I came from I seem to dimly remember something to the effect of " do I really care IF I offended your overly sensitive stupid ***!?" ha

Why not just locked, because that was hardly the place and time for it. Religious and political topics get brought up all the time but that is what the N&P is for.

A thread started in the general discussion, that was never intended to be N&P material in the first place is not the place for it.

If I had said the youtuber had a resemblance to uncle Tony from uncle Tony's garage it would have never erupted. Its mainly because of who the famous person is and what they believe in.

I hated to shower with other guys in the locker room or anyplace. I had a problem and they called me names. It has remained with me all my life. I just hated when they called me Tripod.
Rani, I stand by what I feel, believe and say. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

Funny how threads go waaayyy worse and go on and on for days/weeks. Then a comment that you are actually guy pretending to be a girl and the thread goes poof!!
