Tire hitting fender

-
Strut rod too short? Fender mounted too far back?

Diameter Difference is about 1/2" so it would be about 1/4" closer than my 205s (my strut rod bushings are OEM from 67)

I thought that was factory size ? Definitely gonna go with a lower profile, any suggestions?

Stock disc brakes should fit those tires. Aftermarket disc brakes may have pushed the wheel out just enough to make it rub.

Why would a 215 /70/14 be catching the bottom of front of my fender?
The tire that's rubbing is close to an inch more forward from rear wheel center line to front wheel centerline 108 and 3/16ths on passenger and 107 and 3/4 on the drivers side plus the passenger side is in the wheel well more

I'd get under there and measure to see if there's a difference in strut rod lengths.

Same ones that were on it it I did have them off is there a left and right? I cant remember are they adjustable indent think they are if so that would pull the bottom controll arm back

or lack of / incorrect bushing. also look at the pin and K member, something may be loose or broken there

Right, but his post #12 seems to think that's ok. So I don't know what else to suggest. "Get the tape measure out" is the fastest way, yet he wants to argue. Oh well.

Not arguing I did get the tape out everything seems right . Seems the only fix is shorter profile tire , what's the shortest you can go and not look goofy on 14 inch wheel

i run 215 70 14 on all my abodys and my friends too, hell i ran 225 70 14 in the front too, somethings up

I have 245 60 14's on 14x7 Indy slotted wheels on the rear of my cuda. I wanted to mount the same on the front but before I purchased another set of that size I mounted the rears on the front and noticed that the left front just nicked the lower portion of the front fender and the right side cleared by a safe margin. So I bought 235 60 14's on the front with the other 14x7 wheels.
PS This is an all original car that has been thoroughly abused so I know something is a little off. I actually measured across the top from right rear inner fender to left front rad support and vise versa and one side is about 3/16ths off. Which is remarkable.

did you just go to this size tire or were they on there for a while first?
we want pics!

My 205r 70-14s rubbed until I changed the rims to correct offset.
Measuring the offset will be the quickest/cheapest check to eliminate the possibility .

Looking at your pics from the fourth post. I'd say that your wheel backspace is wrong. Your wheels looked like they are pushed out too far. They should be set back in more. Check your wheel backspacing and offset. And I agree with the post that you should be able to get 225 70R14 to fit. A 4 1/2" backspace with 0 offset is a good wheel size for stock suspension for both the front and back. With that combo (4.5" and 0 offset) you can run a 225 70R14 up front.

If you have a stock spare try that if its close in size.
I may be wrong but it is the simplest fix to start with . Looks like your running hubcaps ? Correct ?
