Stop in for a cup of coffee

Let me guess. You teased the boss about his Prius? Again.
No. But close. Company president asked me a question, mainly my opinion on a policy. and I gave him an honest and point blank opinion. One that isn’t in line with the company’s official stance.

Oops. He asked and you were honest. You will be VP by the end of the week. LOL

They don't usually ask unless they want a honest answer.
He definitely was taken back by My response. But as I as told him. The company saves 10k a month if we were teleworking still, our efficiency has dropped 37 percent now that we are back, mainly due to the network speeds that hold us back. Our largest file takes 47 minutes to open here in the office on site. At home, it takes 3 minutes. Plus, nothing we are doing here on site, is even located in this state. We have no benefit to being back other than visibility.

It justifies his job . Might get them to improve the office conditions.
Doubt it. It’s a rented building. They refuse to understand the issue. They claim to have the fastest fiber in town. They do, coming to the building. The building itself is wired with Cat 5 cable. Not cat5e or cat 6. Cat 5, which has been obsolete since the late 90s. Combine that with the fact they only just one line coming in. That line is then split by a series of splitters across an 50 acre building. By the time it gets to our individual computers, our speed is no more than 5 mbs per second down, .5 MB’s upload.

for comparison sake, my internet at home, is 200 MB’s per sec, and 140 mb upload.

it’s like taking a 1 inch hose, reducing it down to 1/2 inch, stretching it half a mile, then putting 200 Y connections and running 1/2 inch hose to a faucet 400 feet away, up hill

Wow, the wife came home in a bad mood. I think I'll sit out here in the kitchen (safe distance) and sip on a bourbon. LOL

Still heavy smoke. Its pretty bad.
Think that explains headache.
Lots of fires to the northwest. And east.

Morning!
