Manual steering box removed nut and noticed 1 thread also removed. What u guys think is there a way to repair it, just leave it and nothing should happen.

Or possibly a thicker nut it might be ok if it torques to spec.

Some lock tight wouldn't hurt! I would clean up the threads and find the longest nut (correct grade) you can find to try and grab as many good threads as possible?? In your pic the threads at the base of the threaded portion look a little flattened, but should clean up.

It’s my sons car he should be fine, quick reflexes.
Yes just took it apart this morning still needs cleaned up.
Reflexes don't help when a steering arm falls off! That said, if it was mine, I would clean it up and install the pitman arm just to check how far those threads engage into the nut.

You could also drill it for a cotter pin!!! That would really beef up the safety factor !!

I ordered a tap well see
Die I hope, but beware, a good "die" will cut more material off of the threads, you really need a "tread chaser". A thread chaser will clean up the threads without removing any material. Those threads are already missing some material. A tread chaser, some lock tight and a cotter pin will make pretty reliable.

Whats that technique called when you cut a little groove in the pinion/nut and use a punch to bend the edge of the nut into the groove? effectively making it one of the last times it will move?
