Factory High Stall Converters

-
Maybe it should have read (higher stall) .I bet there’s not a Chrysler motor made that wouldn’t run quicker with the 10.75 higher stall converter than the 11.75 low stall. Even a slant.
I agree.
It’s all from the factory point of view, the hi/low stall that some don’t get and disregard the possible gains from it.

That’s what I’m saying RF. What gains using a factory TC? None, yet you argue it to death and YOU are wrong. It’s just stupid for someone to use something like that. I’ve seen it done and the sorry results. Unless it’s dead stock buy something better.

No, that’s not what you were saying.
That’s not what you were arguing.

Come on man! Seriously?

You show yourself as a hypocrite plain and simple.

LOL. I made myself plain and you and a couple of other didn’t like it. Grow up. You don’t have to like what I post. I don’t care. You’re still wrong.

The thread title is "Factory High Stall Converters". That's what the discussion is about. What Chrysler offered from the factory. We're not comparing to a Coan 8" that flashes 6500.

Who said that? I’m talking about a daily driver, low performance, never see the track converter. I said there is no such thing as a high stall or performance converter in an 11 or 12 inch case. I also said unless it’s dead stock any factory converter is going backwards. You can’t do much with a case that big. So if Chrysler called them high stall they are not. Look at the chart that was posted. The highest option was 2800. And with even a small cam and the best tune when you pull the engine into gear it will drag the engine down. A 10 inch case should be as big as it gets. Simple as that.

Yup. You're an idiot. You can play with yourself from here on out.

Had an Opel convertor at one time, it stalled 5500 behind a 440 at 2900#'s. lol

What a jerk! WOW!

And yet again, the baby throws a temper tantrum after he shows hypocrisy once again! He goes back to his argument after agreeing with me when I disagreed with him on being wrong. “I made myself clear” but flip flops on what’s right and wrong. Even tries to being in carbs to back him up. LMAO!

Truly a solid moron!

DUDE! Stop doing drugs! You can’t even see when you’re wrong.

WAIT!

He must be getting off on this!
He knows the thread title is about what the factory did. He is only throwing in wrenches and calling it a real converter despite obviously being off topic and wrong.
He… he’s wackin it in the bathroom with every post left behind. Roy is right.

So the 2400 340 stall is NOT higher than the 1800 stall 318 2 barrel??? They put that 'higher' stall converter in the 340 for a reason. 2400 is 'higher' than 1800, So that makes it a 'High' stall converter by comparison.

OMG! Facts! You just threw in a fact! OMG!
The world is over…. Except for one singing the song of the only one being right as the ship slowly sinks….

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ok guys, I have a HPbooks, TORQUEFLIGHT A-727, transmission handbook from Carl H Monroe, among others. I think all of this discussion is explained very vividly in that book, as Rusty says. "it's a goodun". And yes, if a feller had one or several of each different converters Mopar manufactured for this 727 box he could do pretty good as they do work very well unless they are full of crud. Plus they would damn near lock at 1 to 1 under low throttle cruse. Yep, that was good info to get back in theday. now a day i have moved up to the insane stuff. ok

Once again, attitude doesn't win against the facts. The 1970 Swinger 340 with the A727 and the "high stall" converter was the cats azz in the the day. Ask the Chebbie guys with 290 HP 350's getting beat down by the Mopar 340 with 275 HP. The NHRA refactored the 340 to at least 310 HP with the automatic. Yeah, that was 51 years ago, but you can't change history. You can try to rewrite it, but the facts are available to anyone with a laptop top. Those were the facts in 1970, not 2021. I don't understand why you are so bullheaded, but so be it.

How long is a rope? That’s your answer.

Have a snickers and see if that helps you.

You can’t be serious? You think Stock Eliminator was using a factory converter in 1970? That’s just nonsense. The Chrysler book says they were using the J converter, the TA 3800 or the TA 4200. That was in Stock Eliminator. Get your facts straight. A square lobed Stock Eliminator cam and an OE converter wouldn’t have gotten off the trailer. Why are you so bullheaded?

I made my point and you don’t get it. It’s 2022. What Chrysler did in 1970 means nothing. No one should ever use an 11.75 casein anything today. Get your head on straight and think for once.
.
It's hard to take somebody serious who is living three months ahead of you. The rest of us are still in 2021. Not 2022.

Twice this week
