I just looked up the price of a edelbrock performer intake for a sbm and it was like $390, I'm not paying that for a intake manifold. Found a used one for $300, that's worth a $150

There is a black painted Edelbrock TM1 single plane on FB Marketplace for $160. Seems more in line.

300C is about what I paid for my AirGap back in about 2000? when the Mopar ones first hit the market. Plus shipping. Never have I been sorry. That there is a great manifold; from 550rpm idle to 7200, on a 230/237/110 Hughes cam. Slam the gas and wind it up.

That's not bad for a airgap, but it's outta sight for a performer

I paid $125 for a brand new 383 Holley Street Dominator in 1980.
Could have got the package deal with choice of Holley or Carter carburetor and air cleaner for $250.
Paid 99 bucks for the DC electronic ignition conversion kit around the same time.
Times have changed

It’s not 1979 any more. The cost is what it is. Don’t be so myopic as to step on your own dick. Used stuff is going up because you can’t get new. It’s not going to get better any time soon, if ever.

Buy it when you see or pay more later. Or not get something at all.

Be patient, watch the for sale adds, and best yet, go to local swap meets and save the shipping cost.

I agree especially an LD340 guys asking $500 plus for them RIP OFF!! they ain't made of gold!!

I’m basically a big block guy....... and I have a nice little stash of intakes I’ve collected over the years......most of them bought used.

I should be able to weather the storm.

Used stuff is going up because people can and will take advantage of situation. I'll go with out before I over pay for anything.

Exactly! Try and find a 340 six pack manifold right now, they are $900-1400 for the one's I see for sale for just the manifold since they haven't made any for about 5 years now. I have a Mopar Performance manifold on consignmet and the owner wants $1200 for it! Be grateful that there are still aluminum manifolds being made at all...

Just buy a gen 3.......parts are cheaper!
I'd say that our hobby as we know it only has 3-5 years left and it'll be done with as this electric vehicle craze is off the charts. I'll probably just leave my car as is and enjoy it as is

Gnna be selling my nice weiand excellerator here in the near future for 150 bucks. Its painted black
Is that a single plane intake? If I go with a 4 barrel, I'm going with a dual plane intake. I'm in no hurry, time is on my side. I'm sure that I can find someone that will be willing to sell their intake manifold at a fair price. I don't and won't buy the first one that I see. I don't believe in impulse buying as that's a bad idea

Seen the new Hyundai Ioniq 5? That's pretty slick. Not a crazy "look at me I'm different, I'm electric" like that Mitsubishi commuter nightmare.

I still like the Lotus bodied Teslas.
