Stop in for a cup of coffee

We really liked the fresh turkey we got this year, smaller but with just the kids worked out. Today the carcass (with a lot of meat) goes in the the crockpot for turkey soup.

Rivalry weekend in college football, PAC12 has done another fine job of eating their own so none of them will make the playoffs. Tomorrow we are going to the Seahawks game, if they manage to lose to the lowly Raiders that will be a sad day.
We have ours today also Kansas State vs Kansas. Kansas State wins and plays for the BIG 12 championship game.
Friends coming this evening to watch the game, making a batch of chili and cinnamon rolls with of course adult beverages!!
Tomorrow be watching and cheering for those CHIEFS!!

Turkey soup is always good . Need one turkey Sandwich, after , oh maybe two ...lol
We toss so much turkey here. Only 1 person likes dark meat so just the breasts are used. MIL does stuffing instead of dressing so you need a bird so you have a place for that. I would rather eat pie. No pumpkin this year but cherry cheesecake, apple, pecan, and French Silk chocolate. Oh yes, fresh made cinnamon rolls with every meal. No wonder why I weigh so much lol

You and the wife rooting for different teams? I'm looking forward to seeing Chiefs vs. Bills again, think they'll both battle again in the playoffs.

Yep I'm K-State and she is a KU Law School grad. Her Dad was a lifelong KU employee retired as Dean of Education.
Buffalo is a bit shaky the last couple weeks. I think they're a wait and see as far as the playoffs.

So that will be fun. Yes the Bills aren't playing that well, but they're not injured either, like any team getting hot down the stretch is key.

And with that desert offering I'm sure you really didn't miss that pumpkin pie...just saying.
True that. When my FIL was alive we got a occasional mince meat pie. One of my favorites. He once complained about not getting raisin creme pie very often so I made a coupke and brought them for Christmas. I think I impressed him with those. (and he was a hard one to impress)

Kinda strange concoction. I am pretty sure mince meat pie I had as a kid actually had meat in it. I haven’t had any recently, but I don’t think many people actually put meat in it anymore.

It's Savoy Saturday!

Yep. Nowdays it's apples, currants, dates, raisins and the like.

No sandwiches:( the downside of having dinner away… My son did the Turkey on the smoker:thumbsup: also had prime rib and lots of sides. Didn’t have much for deserts-which was fine since I was already stuffed. He also sent me home with a couple pounds of bacon off the slab he smoked recently and sliced up last night.

Heading home. At a rest stop now. Tried going to Sheetz and it was a nightmare. Woman’s room was closed for cleaning :wtf: and there was a line of cars sitting trying to get on the electric chargers…

Thermostat in Fargo is now 195. Heat isnt much but it is hot. The old heaters just dont make much wind. Santa is ready, all tied down in back of truck. Test run generator, it inflates on economy setting so thats a plus, generator will be quiet.
