Years ago, when I was a Captain the Army National Guard sent myself and another Captain to a two course at the San Diego Navy base. When we get there to check in at housing clerk looks at us and says, "your Army Captains" to which I replied, "yes, we are" That's when I learned the big difference between a Navy Captain and an Army Captain. Had great rooms haha!! For those who don't know a Navy Captain is like an Army Colonel.

Hey I’ve never shopped at one. My new job is on a navy base. Is it really cheaper
I used to love going and staying in officers quarters as a technician. I was a WG-13 which was equivalent to a 0-6. Should see the looks at a guy in a e-6 uniform leaving the suite by the officers! Pretty funny.

For most items it's cheaper and you don't pay sales tax. You can also buy gas on base if they sell it and it's usually cheaper also.
When we were stationed at Barbers Point Hawaii (Navy) we always went to the Air Forces commissary, it was better. We also ran up to Schofield Barracks a couple times, pretty decent commissary there too.

The gas prices at our Navy bases are ok but the Casinos beat them hands down. $2.75 a gallon yesterday.

And the military golf courses are great in Hawaii. The Marine base course along the ocean is called the military Pebble Beach course. A few years ago, two of us and a cart for $70 what a deal.
My Dad was a really avid golfer, usually broke par all the time He had a friend that used to stay with him at the summer house when he played at the Shinnecock classic. Chichi Rodregus, super nice guy.
Ever shoot skeet off the end of there over the ocean? Keoneoe is a great base.

It is great check it out next time back then gun rental, one round and a clay was a quarter I think. Went there alot with Marilyn.
