Here's some slick kits to make your Parts store battery look like a original Mopar one. I bought a Everstart from Wal Mart that had smooth sides and top.
The kits are shipped from Belgium so they will take a while to get there.

UPDATE 1/22. they also have embossed plastic "Mopar" side plates for that original look!

No issues. Shouldn't have issues unless your charging system is overcharging.any issues with the caps leaking? i see vent holes in them.

These are what I ordered. Their ebay page is pretty good. Listed as 59-65.Looks real nice, yall. I don't see anything for prior to 66 though.
Cool, thanks! I'm unsure my battery can accommodate that kit, as it is completely flat on top. I don't know if I could pry the top off without destroying the case. I'll have to look at it closer. These are what I ordered. Their ebay page is pretty good. Listed as 59-65.

Now you are catching on. Flat tops have stick on caps. Mine had the 2 rectangular caps that sealed 3 cells. The push in caps work with those. MIne started out as a Wal Mart Never Start. Made by Johnson Controls.I see now. Those caps just stick on the flat surface of the battery.
See post 37 about the topper clamps and possible modificationsI'll soon get the fake topper
My caps were not the stick on style. They are the push in replacements for the long 3 cell rectangle caps. The problem is, my cell openings are too small for the caps!I see now. Those caps just stick on the flat surface of the battery.
