Next step for the car is the clips holding the stainless steel mouldings on the roof.
There are two different mouldings. One for cars with vinyl top and one for cars with painted roof.
This car was equipped with a black vinyl top that is going back with NOS material. All around the vinyl top there are mouldings holding it tight to the roof. The roof moulding for the vinyl top is made out of stainless steel with pre-drilled holes. On top of this thin moulding the clips were attached.
A friend of mine was able to had them 3D printed with one of the few factory remaining clips.
First picture shows just the clips with the screw attached to the roof.
Second picture shows the clips on top of the stainless steel moulding. The clips have a recessed area under to fit on top the moulding.
Third picture shows the moulding attached to the clips. You can see the moulding leaning to the left.
Fourth picture shows the thin gap between the paint and the moulding. The clips had a thin shoulder on the paint side where the moulding stays This is to prevent the moulding from scratching up the paint.
Fifth picture shows the vinyl top side. The moulding is resting on the roof. But when the vinyl top material is in place it will rest on that material.
Sixth and seventh pictures shows the clips for painted roofs. Mounts perfect and the moulding attach the roof in a correct way resting on the little shoulders.
I had two extra sets made if someone is in need of the clips.
