What gun kit ? Point in the the right direction !
Sorry, not gun kit. Bought this valve off eBay and still using original gun. Could probably get the parts at the store cheaper but was in a tank to get mine going

for you guys with these cabinets. cabinet ok. rest is a throw away. gun, hoses, syphon hose, light. all in the garbage. start over.
tacoma company has a kit (dont buy it) that converts your crappy cabinet into a foot pedal activated bottom feed that makes it about 5x more productive.
if you research you can find all the items online and not have to deal with tacoma as the owner is an idiot. lots of videos online on how to convert it. ive build a four cabinets this way and they work very well.
you can find pretty much everything here or even amazon should have everything

For the money, it is a decent unit but....
The window that you look through while blasting needs some sort of sacrificial plastic cover to keep the sand from hitting it.
Harbor Freight is quite happy to sell you a new sandblaster but they don't stock those small sheets of plastic. It looks like they are approximately 12" x 24". The blast cabinet came with three or 4 of the plastic sheets with self adhesive strips to attach the sheets to the inside.
What kind of BS business model is it to only sell stuff but not also sell replacement parts? I friggin hate the mentality that everything is disposable and subject to replacement.
Yeah....with as cheap as many chinese parts are, it does not make sense to fix something when replacement cost is about the same. How froggin hard would it be for them to offer these plastic sheets?
I could just cut my own sheets and attach them with my own tape but it sure would be better if HF has these on the shelf.
I've checked a couple of stores and have been told to Go to the website.
That is bullshit because the site does not list them.
I guess I will just find some clear plastic somewhere and make my own.
Its probably just clear Mylar. Go buy some to have with your Wheineken.

We use a couple similar units just much larger where I work. I'm not sure where they are sourced from, but we used to have layered windows that could just be peeled and discarded until the get to the tempered glass. We also never use silica because it destroys the pickup tube, gun liner...pretty much anything in its path. I can remember running out of stock and just cutting some acrylic from a sheet using the original as a pattern. If you want that unit to last, try and avoid silica as your media
Garnet better than Silica.

I've been using this, 40 ft for $20. https://www.amazon.com/BANLTRE-Transparency-Template-Material-Stencils/dp/B0C3ZKCFKB/?tag=fabo03-20
I also "nutserted" the window so I can easily replace the protector instead of halfway crawling into the dusty, dirty cabinet!

Hi wondering how you attach these to the glass? My glass is a old storm door and the film i use has a sticky patch on the outside, maybe yours is just pinched in? Does dust get between the film and glass? How thick are these?

On our Trinco cabinets they pinch between the blast side of the glass and the cabinet. There are others that are static and some that are multiple layer peel as you go.

I noticed on the blasting media available at Northern or menards, says "coal slag" is that something recent? It seems too fine and i have clogging issues, it seems to pack down and clog.

Would you have a link for the multi layer peel as you go type?

I looked for one when this thread first started but was limited on time. Let me take another gander. We also added a pneumatic vibratory ball and mounted it to the funnel part of the cabinet to keep the media moving.

I use automotive masking tape, 1 inch (the yellow in the pic). It seems to be holding very well. The clear film is 4 mil thick. It is at least as thick as the original that came with the cabinet. Plus it seems less pliable, so probably stronger. If you PM me your address, I'll be glad to slip a sample in an envelope for you.

I have 2 electric vibrators (easy kern dog,) one from the TP place which does very little, and one chineseum one from e bay, but they get very hot, perhaps the air one is the answer! Thanks!
I will try to get some pictures of my homemade cabinet

You can hook it to the same port as your blast trigger, so it is only on when you are blasting. If that is insufficient you can hook it up to pilot air with a shut off valve. You could also try aerating the media with a homemade diffuser. Why not...if you already made the blaster keep the engineering checks payable to 1973.

I was thinking a cool pick up for the tube would be a oil pick up from a engine????

If you've never run a retail outlet, you wouldn't likely grasp the inventory problems/issues/shelf space with support items.

Had many conversations with customers over the years about why this or that wasn't stocked in the store. Had 1 or 2 in the warehouse, never good enough for some.

Here's a primer. If I have space to put something on the shelf, one items sells 5 times a month, the other sells once a year... which item gets that shelf space?
