Carlisle 2025

-

I used the campground Garage Paddock to swap tires and wheels as well as to add negative camber.

My Buddy and I are Running the AutoX now and will be back tonite.

A little on the warm and humid when the sun is not behind a fluffy cloud.

For Carlisle in July, it is nearly perfect. No storms yet.

Carlisle finds for Josh's 73 Dart Sport "Fred"....
Perfectly straight beak trim for 20 bucks. Came with the beak...haha. and then saw 3 more of the them for 20 to 30 each.
Missed a grill with park lamp lenses for 20, but found another for 40.
Picked up a pre arranged 9 item order from Detroit Muscle and Jim, realizing it was for Josh, treated him great!
A pair of new outside door handles for 75.
A used driver's side sport mirror better than driver quality chrome for 90. A little pricey, I feel, but the best deal we found on one worth buying.
A pair of headlight bezels and headlight holder in rings for 20.

Anyone sees a 73 Duster LF fender, please let me know. If you do, pizza/beer/subs/whatever is on me.

Is it hot up there? Humid? Storms?
If I lived here, I would start off looking like this:

And by the end of summer look like this.

Holy crap is the weather different from California. I have worked in 110 degree heat. I’ve driven my old cars in it. You get into shade and get a fair amount of relief but here???
I’m in the shade sitting still and my forearms and legs are sweating. I’m surprised I dont stink like a scummy bum. I used to dismiss the comments of how Arizona had a dry heat despite it being 125 degrees but the humidity absolutely makes a difference.
No wonder cars rust out here. I’ve seen 3-4 year old trucks with rust. Back home there is none of that. My 1975 Power Wagon has very slight bubbling over the rear wheel wells but is otherwise solid. This is crazy!
Having stated that..,,
What a massive car show! It is damned near too much to take. Back home if there are 8 Chargers at a show, it is a good turnout. I don’t know how many 68-70s I saw yesterday. Parts??
Our biggest show out west is good but strolling through the swap meet here is unreal. I’m not looking for anything specific at the moment but if I were, I’d probably find it.
I’ve been in the FXBO tent back and forth and met a lot of forum members and also Steve Dulcich, a genuine cool guy.

We went to a Target store and bought a neck fan for the wife…

Oh, where the heck does a man buy denim shorts nowadays? I’ve been to 4 stores in the last week and nobody stocks them.

take the jeans that have holes in the knees and cut em to size.

Did I just see you roll out about 2pm? If so, looks and sounds good. If not, whomever it was, it still looked and sounded good.
Thanks yes that was me. Windows up AC on slipping clutch. Hit a massive monsoon down pour had to pull off highway sit for 45 minutes wait for it to pass. But made it home fine otherwise

Lou Constable did an interview with the owner the Red 440 Cuda'. Which I think his name is Carl, but do not quote me on that! Met a ton of people yesterday!
Maybe it will get posted on his You-Tube channel. The Guys at the Barracuda Owners Group Tent were Top Notch!

Had a nice coversation with Butch Leal and showed him that Picture, He said his daughter never sent it to him, Also said he would be visiting her next month and would discuss that! oh,oh.

Got to talk with Nick Panartis this AM before I headed home, That was a Joy and he is an awesome guy to chat with!

Got most the parts I needed, and a front clip north of the Lower A's for good measure.

Our Dog had been miserable at the hotel, and just to Hot out and about on the field and just as miserable! For those that he let pet him, Amen!
We packed up around 9:30 this morning and returned to the Hotel to get our stuff and headed home to Georgia! Left right around 11am and got home at 9:45PM, we made good time!

@barracudakid, I will get back to you on that hood, Sorry I had to leave before stopping back by!

And by the Way, The humidity + heat factor is much worse at the foot of Appalacia than it is above the Mason Dixon Line!
