want to do a one wire alt for my 67 shop truck
just want simple like a gm one wire (but would feel odd having gm parts on my dodge)
thinking a denso or something like that but not sure what would work with a v-belt
i don't need much amps cause i'm not running much electral load thinking 60 would be a lot

Gosh, if you don't need high amperage, why not just stick with a stock square back? They're good alternators.

but you might find the 40 amp denso used on Kubota mini digger as an easier fit as it doesn't have the double width mount but is pretty much the same in all but amps.... choose based on easiest to mount.. and of course the easiest to mount is probably a rebuilt orginal..
but i do like these tiny densos as well

I really just trying to simplify the wiring when im done
Internal reg
And I like a light ...its a quick way to know if you toss the belt
So the bigger one just have to fab a mount
Ill look into the Toyota one ..ill get it threw my normal supplier

I used a GM one wire. Many different pulleys are available. I mounted my alternator on the power steering bracket. The hole in the alternato was a metric diameter so I used a metric bolt to keep it tight in the alternator. I just retapped the threads american. My positive post was on the frame rail. I used a solenoid for the one wire seen here so I could kill the alternator before a pass . Belt tension was adjusted with a turn buckle with heim ends.

Just remember this. "One wire" is not a cure all, especially if you already have a built in voltage drop problem in the factory wiring, AKA bulkhead/ ammeter. You MUST oversize the charge wire because the voltage sensing is right at the alternator. Otherwise, "down the line," accessories AND THE BATTERY will be running UNDER the proper voltage.

LOL having said that, I may have done this before ANY of you. In the 70's I put an integral GM on the 340 that was swapped into my 70RR, and later, the SB Mopar swapped old 62 FJ-40 Landcruiser.

Yea that's the main thing I want to do is take the Charing voltage out of the cab
I would love to either up grade it to a inductive amp or somehow make a volt gage out of it
Shame sweptline forum closed
Think there was a topic on it
What are they doing here
