I’ve got a 73 Duster with a 318 and 904. I’m thinking of swapping it out for a 360 and 727 from an 86 W250 on Marketplace. Before I put it all together, I’m planning to give the engine a good once-over. I’ll also get the transmission checked out before installation. Could you let me know what I’ll need to swap out and what parts I can reuse? Thanks so much!

360 car oil pan and pickup tube, shorter drive shaft. Need to seal off the emission holes under the exhaust ports on the 360 or they will leak. Have fun! Not that you asked, but I'd get a balanced flex plate and run the 904/torque converter that's behind the 318.

Run the 904 with the 360?

He must watch out which balanced flex plate he gets. Internally balanced engine requires a Internal balanced flex plate and the same goes for an externally balanced engine.

oil pan, pickup and dipstick for a car. i'd run the 904 myself. is you did that the drive shaft stays the same. you'll need either a b&m flexplate for the 360 or have your converter balanced for a 360. you'll also need the driver side motor mount for a 340/360 or modify the 318 mount to work.

W250 ia a 4X4 right? not sure that trans will work without a tail housing and output shaft.

well, it goes without saying to get the right part...

Left side engine mount bracket, Oil pan and pickup tube, Keep the 904 and buy a new 3000 -3500 360 converter.

Headers and tap and plug the emission holes in the head. You will also need the carb rod for 3 piece throttle pressure linkage if the truck has one piece set up and the cable bracket. You may want to upgrade the radiator. W250 trans will not fit a car it is a 4X4 trans. D250 will

The 318 left side motor mount works fine... just add a spacer... (anything... washers, bigger nut, etc). Also, the 318 throttle linkage/kickdown linkage will work just fine, but may need some slight working with.... I have the 318 2bbl linkage on my 360. I have a video on making it work. Done it way more than once....
