Me and you both. I've always used them with the grease fitting, too. I've worn some out so they squeaked and popped, but never broken one.Ive NEVER broken a u joint.

Dana #53228X for the greaseable. 1967 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA 4.5L 273cid V8 Universal Joint | Shop Now at RockAuto
Not if they are installed correctly.Remember, the hole for the grease weakens them....
I see the "standard replacement" are greaseable and the "HD's" are not. I have used both with no issues. Thanks Mike, I checked last night but it didn't show greasable for some reason. Probably me....

I'm with ya there. I don't see any on that list I would want other than Dana. Most manufacturers I haven't heard of. I don't have a TRW catalog with U joints in it. Otherwise we could look there. Also the greasable has zerk in the cap(cheaper to make) and not in the body. SKF i would "assume" would be quality, BUT they make me leery due to price...

In general, Spicer (Dana) are the best quality universal joints. Most older replacement universal joints from Chrysler, since they stopped making their own, were supplied by Dana.

If you put slicks on it and routinely dump the clutch leaving the line. Although you haven't said, I'm suspecting "this" thread is all about something that's 100% STREET, where greasable u-joints will be just fine.
I will be putting a driveshaft loop on my Demon......That scenario has always been in the back of my mind. The car is 100% street.Imagine the damage/injuries if a front U joint failed with the car going at speed.....
