Stop in for a cup of coffee

I would probably use Competition blend, Hickory, or Mesquite on beef. I like Apple or cherry on chicken. I would like to try some orange on chicken but it's hard to get. Competition or just plain old oak on Pork.
Not long ago I got a notion for trying grape vines on the fire thinking that fruit trees do make good smoke. All the vineyards around here that were planted shortly after I moved up here had reached their productive limits and were being dozered up in piles  and burned. Alas I never got around to trying it :BangHead:.

Our local winery mentioned that they had trimmed their vines and the trimmings were available for free, probably for crafts and such. Someone mentioned "good on the smoker" That may be a fun option. Wine smoked cheese? (thinking out of the box here)

yeah, i have been doing this almost 40 years and never saw a month like last month, like nothing even near this bad
Our biggest downfall was when the dockworkers were on strike. By then, Mac was buying a lot from overseas, both product and raw materials. Our trucks got pretty bare.

the economy in general is wildly unpredictable currently
add in the destruction of the green movement to energy and auto production,
it's a real mess. some things booming, others stagnant as a swamp

I have heard that the vines have like a 30 year lifespan before the grape quality declines. When I got here there were no vineyards. Couple years later many of the farm grounds were planted in grapes and much of the uncultivated ranch lands were graped. Now the previously cultivated fields are back to raising broccoli . Lots of the other ground is too hilly for row crops, not sure what will happen with those.

SA grapes have hurt domestic production
I grew up in the grape belt of western ny
welches had massive processing plants, all local produce
now if they don't have a winery they'll go broke

stopped raining for now, a muddy mess outside,
last evening, picked up the bronco hood skin,
and it erupted in fire ants! lil' f'ks got me on the hands and wrests
:mob:

My Dad had a Triumph in 69 but it had 4 wheels, was fun around corners, vert
My Dad had a 1964 MG 1100 he bought in Austria. Ok fun , but 4dr . 4cyl transverse mounted with 4spd. That's the very first Engine I rebuilt. Think it was 1971 when I did that. Yeah, I'm as old as Dirt. Did everything perfect, but it wouldn't start. After bout a week, I figured out that I had the distributor 180deg out of time...
