That be pure dee baloney sauce, DUDE

i have more than one block that was painted inside the lifter galleys with glyptol ran through both types of machine shop cleaning processes, spray washer and so on. Some places were thinner than others as far as what was painted originally but none of it was washed off completely

I didn't repaint them as I didn't think it was needed, I have been Mopar only for a lot of years, I did have one customer, Bob Bauder, in SO CA that wanted me to build or rebuild non Mopar brand motors and I told him that I would do one GM motor for every ten hemi motors I did for him. I think I ended up doing one SB and one BB Chevy for some of his projects or some of his customers cars. He had worked for Boyd Coddington before opening his own shop at home in Crestline, CA.
I also redid one motor for Boyd Coddington, it was a 1962 413 M.W. AKA Super Stock 413 crossram motor for one of his customers that had a original 1962 M.W. car, I can't remember now if it was for a 1962 M.W. 413 Dodge or Plymouth

I met with him and his customer at my home on a Saturday morning to make sure I knew exactly what his customer wanted, he wanted it kept original in appearance with the complete stock M.W. exhausts, air cleaners and so on. I told them that I would build them a motor on one condition which was I would be the only one to start and break in the new mttor installed in his car, they agreed and did what we had agreed on. I had to wait almost a full year after dropping that motor off at Boyds shop to go back and break in that motor. Boyd didn't do all the things that I had ask them to do to optimize his customer car, which was to switch to good MSD 7 series ignition with the proper coil, a good 10-inch custom built torque converter and replace the rear gears with a deeper ratio.
His customer met me there after breaking in his motor and we went for a drive (I drove) after breaking in the cam and lifters to seat the rings His customer was happy with that motor in his car, but I wasn't, it drove like a turd to me. That customer had one of Coddington very expensive street roadster that had won several trophies in CA car shows both in northern and southern CA back in the days of yesteryear, 1980s and 1990s, maybe in the early 2000s also, CRS
