I was running about 11 volts on my meter prior to changing bad alternator. I had it tested and it was bad, battery was bad so I changed both and while I was at it I changed the voltage regulator and put a blaster 2 MSD coil. I had an accel coil with an MSD AL6 and MSD Distributor already. Ran Fine. After changing all above volt meter was reading 15 to 16 volts. Lights were brighter, I could hear the fuel pump was louder. Took for a ride and ran a little slower it seemed then a couple back fires died but started back up and drove home. Any suggestions.

16 seems a tad high, assuming you have cleaned all your battery connections, both on the + and - side and both ends of the cables, also make sure your regulator is grounded well. Normally, if all of your wiring and connections are good, low voltage is alternator and high voltage is caused by regulator.

normal voltage should be 13.5-15.5. so you are probably fine.

15 to 16 is hi, check to make sure your conections are good on the alt and V/R also make sure the V/R is grounded correctly, check all the engine grounds

It may be your volt meter. I would guess with all those new parts everything is just fine. Mine is around 14.5 volts while running.

As for the engine seem slower, hmm. Hard to think changing the coil would make much difference. Maybe the spark was weak and now with a stronger spark the fuel ratio is a bit lean. Always best to jet up and down to see were the best power is.

If your plug wires are old, you may have damage the coil wire changing the coil.

Ok, will keep checking connections, everything is new from the aircleaner wing nut to the lug nuts on the rear wheels. Any other suggestions appreaciated.

Found the problem, forgot to tie the wires up along the firewall and the wires from the AL6 to the distributor melted to the exhaust manifold. OOOPPPSSS! Hope it still works. "-(
