What is good clutch for 360 with 4-speed manual

Again, all the info is appreciated and very useful. I put in a McLeod Street Pro. If feels like it is going to work well. Of course I have some break-in driving to do before I can really test it.

Wrong size steering armsfor modified '65 Barracuda

Good afternoon, On my '65 Barracuda, it is time to replace my steering arms/ lower ball joints. Unfortunately the ones I purchased for a '65 are similar shape but are too small. Those on the car are 10" long, the wrong ones are 9". I believe the front end was beefed up a bit. The discs are 11"...

What is good clutch for 360 with 4-speed manual

I have heard that the duel clutch can be grabby. My wife enjoys weekend drives with me, and I wonder if that would make her experience a bit too unpleasant.

What is good clutch for 360 with 4-speed manual

Hello All in FABO, I have finally removed damaged clutch out of my '65 Barracuda. Found damaged throw-out bearing and 3 damaged springs on the clutch plate.) Now, the question is: "What would be a good clutch to use for this Barracuda with a 360 (.03 over), very aggressive cam, and a Hurst...

4-speed clutch problem on '65 Barracuda

I think I may see it now. There is a broken ring hanging loose on the throw-out bearing assembly. I think maybe the bearing is only partially moving. It appears to be a two part bearing maybe? It looks to have an inner and outer cylinder. The clutch is a diaphragm type, but the built 360 needs a...

    Clutch replacement on that '65

Thank you Jburch and Trailbeast, Is it possible to separate the bell from trans while it is in the car. I believe there are 2 upper bolts that seem difficult to feel, let alone remove.

    Clutch replacement on that '65

I have never replaced a clutch or removed a transmission from this era car ('65 Barracuda, 360 with 4 speed, And Doug headers. Does the trans typically have to be removed from the car to change the clutch, or can it be slid back enough, without dropping if exhaust is lowered and drive shaft...

4-speed clutch problem on '65 Barracuda

Hello All, I have a 360 with 4-speed in my '65. While driving locally I pushed in the clutch pedal to shift and felt a clunk or pop. At that point the pedal became more difficult to depress, and I struggled to get the car into gear and limp back home. Once home I can not shift into any gear. It...

removing 225 /6 from Auto Trans.

Good point regarding clearance. Limited space up front would ad to the potential for damaging something. I am not sure how many inches needed to clear the converter from the spline.

removing 225 /6 from Auto Trans.

Thank you for that. The piston rod broke, engine is seized and I can't turn the crank to get to the other 2 bolts on the flywheel. Can't get the oil pan off (to free up broken rod) without dropping steering linkage. But I hear what you are saying, so I will do what I have to. Thanks again.

removing 225 /6 from Auto Trans.

Hello FABO, I am pulling the engine out of my '63 Valiant, leaving the automatic trans in the car. Someone suggested that I had to remove the bolts holding the fly wheel to the engine. But shouldn't the fly wheel and torque converter slide right off the transmission spline with the engine...

    '65 Barracuda 'S' rear springs

Hello all, I am not sure how old the rear springs on my '65 Barracuda 'S' might be. The car seems to have a bit of a low stance in the rear, and I am wondering how much the springs might be sagging. Also, they are not the correct, stiffer 'S' springs. Would somebody have a similar car with newer...

    Severe timing /cam issue

Thank you all for the input. Yep, I believe that I don't need to do any more investigating to know this engine is retiring. Had originally hoped it was a timing/bent valve sort of issue. Maybe the car is ready to be put to rest. Thanks again
