    Pulling engine & tranny

I've found that if you're going up through the engine bay, it's easier to do them seperately. There's not a whole lot of room in there. The other alternative is to remove your torsion bars, rear tranny bracket, prop the back of the tranny with a block of wood. Remove the upper control arm adn...

    Air compressors

I tried one of the cheapo harbor freight $150 compressors and it sucked ***. Boned up for a $300 craftsman 25 gal 2hp, and it does a great job.

Hi all, I have my engine in the car, and want to put in my roller rockers. I just got some clevite ball and cup push rods for the job. Nowhere can I find the specs to put adjustable roller rockers on a hydrolic cam engine. My setup is a 360 with the stock 340HP grind purple shaft and...

just dropped the engine in the bay today

Thanks all, Yeah, it's taken me 4 years to get this far. Good parts are key, but every nut and bolt that I re used has been blasted and painted. All new front end pieces, and the 360 has the 340 HP Cam. Waiting on some 7/16 torque converter bolts now, the originals were 5/16, and my hughes...

Help. Timing chain installation 360 LA

You're right Fishy. What threw me off was that I expected to have the dots lined up 12 and 6, as the instructions said, and be looking the lobes where the power stroke was about to take place. Rookie Cam installer mistakes. LOL Thanks guys for all your help.

Help. Timing chain installation 360 LA

Hi all, Talked to MRE this morning. Even though the instructions say that the cam gear lines up at 6 oclock and the crank gear at 12, they told me that the cam gear needs to be at noon as well. Thanks for all the help guys. I knew this thing was 180 deg off. - Stu

Help. Timing chain installation 360 LA

Hi all, i'm installing my MRE double roller timing chain. The crank key is between 1 and 2 oclock with the #1 and #6 piston at TDC. I line up the dots between the crank gear and the cam gear but I notice that the cam lobe for #1 intake is straight up. Is this correct? I would expect that...
