I can't vote for any. All the pics your showing look good either way.

Top and stripe and thats my Grandfathers car except he had the white top and stripe but same color...with Black it looks even BETTER..looks mean lol.

Yeah I'd be in the same boat with you.LOL. You got alot of choices there.
I think the first or third picture looks the best too me,but let me stare a bit more and then I can cast my vote.

I voted stripe only based on those pics.

I've always been a vinyl top kind of guy, but I find myself going away from that lately based on pics around here (other than abodyjoe's car:D)

Personally, I like the vinyl top. As for the stripe, to me the bumble bee stripe says "Dodge", but you've got a Plymouth Scamp. It would look good with the stripe, but I think if I wanted a stripe, I might instead look at adapting factory looking stripes that were used on similar A-bodies in Brazil or Australia, or even the side stripe from a 70 340 Duster.

I voted stripe only. I never was a fan of the vinyl tops. Eventually I'd like to lose the vinyl top on my car. JMO

Good job you cought the Plymouth Scamp problem I've even toyed with idea of using the body side stripe or even the body side moulding

Not a fan of bumblebee stripes on Plymouths. They're a Dodge trademark.
I think you'd be better off adapting a Plymouth-style stripe. How about the over-the-roof stripe used on early-'70s Road Runners? Something different and definitely Plymouth.
Don't confuse the poor uneducated masses that think we're all driving Novas.

I vote the vinyl top and the stripe !!Gives it a Classy look !!!:prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer::prayer:

IMHO, go with both. They are such "period pieces" of that era that are so different from today's cars that to lose either would be a shame.

Factory Plymouth stripe in black, shows off the belt line, elongates the car and ties in the interior, vinyl roof I can go either way, it depends on if you like vinyl roofs. Whatever you do, it's gonna be stunning in that copper color.

Oh one other thing, if you decide on the stripe, make sure it's placed exactly, often the shops don't get them quite right and you won't be a happy camper.

Yes I like vinyl tops always have here's my 71 Demon
I want this car to be good looking - confort - econemy
Keep them coming lots of good info so far --- thanks

I would say go with both..... as long as the tail stripe is the same as the '70 swinger style, not the '69 style. And don't do the stripe gloss black, get a real stripe kit decal as original to the '70 swinger.

Both. The first picture is great.
The cars are so long that having the vinyl top and stripe on the rear makes the car more stocky, classy, and screams "Classic Mopar!"
Also is says at less volume "In your face non-Mopars"

I'm starting to really want a '69 swinger in T5 with a black vinyl top and a black rear stripe......That first car is awesome!

I agree I said no more project cars but I've had this Scamp for several years and decided it was time for a makeover.Maybe a 69 in the furture?

Agreed that the first car is awesome...it has it all...vinyl top...bumble bee stripe...cragars with bfg radial t/a's.

Looks friggin awesome!
