Gotta love that color . . . didn't figger you were going to go through all that work to paint the jams before the snow flies. It looks good, you da man!!! Now you are step ahead for the spring. Any luck on a door panel yet?? Makes you wonder what happened to the original, must have been quite a wreck lol. Keep up the good work John.

Carefull welding around glass, I'll bet your vent window and door glass has little specs all over it from the welding spatter. I learned that lesson the hard way but luckily it was on a ford that wasn't mine.

Well it looks like I neglected filling some holes on the door from when it was a "SE" Dart door. DAMN IT!!

Door lock hole is bigger too! Oh well, guess I'll be painting that door again after more welding!

The main problem now is going to be straightening out the door frame along the windshield. I was hitting it with a sledge hammer yesterday when I almost took out the windshield!
Now formulating plan with 2 options.
Option #1; Drill out spot welds, bend the 2 seperated pcs of metal of the frame 1 at a time, then weld back together.
Option #2; Weld a pull bracket on frame, hook FOTO's wench to it and PULL!!!
Might try option 2 first. Sense I have to weld either way, it might actually come back into better shape by pulling with the wench and would be less welding and mess. Might be faster too. Besides, FOTO's wench hooked and welded to Lumps door frame being pulled would just make for some really cool pics and sounds easier too!
We shall soon see!!:glasses7:

It was a pretty bad wreck!
I needed to paint this door so I could install the door panel to keep from freezing! As you can see though I neglected filling more holes so I will be welding and painting again, but not till spring.
Got to staighten up door frame. ABB came back from breakfast this morning complaining her butt was wet from where hard rains last night leaked onto the seat. I must have loosened something on fit while hammering and bending door frame yesterday.

yeah, learned that lesson years ago. Window already had pits from someone else welding on outside. Ran a razor over it, good as new!

Did ya hit it with the sledge?:banghead: lol the winch idea may work, but as you know be careful of that windshield, it wouldn't be happy being manipulated.
