This year I am expecting in the neighborhood of $5650 from the feds and state.

I've got a 68 fastback, with a 318, a904 and 7 1/4" rear to drive around for now. I have my 400/470 block, but I am not going to even think of building it until I get my suspension done. This car is and always will be my daily driver (because I have to use up all the gas that the people in hybrids are wasting by leaving it in the ground and not enjoying a mopar).

I am trying to decide where to put my dough, so if you have any experience with these front ends, especially the QA1 setup vs the others mentioned I'd appreciate it. Which option would you go with, and what's your reasoning?

QA1 + Dana 60 about $5400

vs

RMS about 5 grand + brakes
or
HDK not too sure about price + brakes, I will have to call.
or
Gerst + brakes, once again I am not too clear on price, I will have to call.

Right now I am leaning towards the second option because next year's taxes can go to the driveline and I don't think I'll break the 7 1/4" before then. Maybe. I hope....
Thanks for your help folks! :)

Spend it at the local house of ill repute.

Yeah. Who ever sat in a wet diaper at the nursing home fondly remembering an axle or brakes.
I suggest sexy women and a few intoxicants.

I suggest Gerst, you could be very very close to getting a complete front and rear suspension kit from him. I know his front kit includes brakes in it's price btw.

the RMS set up is the most proven and complete system out there right now.. best way to go if you are going tube front end and r&p steering..

If it were me I'd go with option 2 simply because I plan to eventually put a gen 3 Hemi in my Duster and I want power steering.

Donate it.... the ragtopfury fund is always accepting donations.........

Since that wasn't an option, I say option number 2.

Looks like you need to redo your tax withholding got mine pretty close to 0 - nothing back nothing owed

Save the money, as we get older, the government takes more of our money. we can never have enough deductions, so the more we owe.
I bet you can't wait for the day you get to write the check on April 15th or quarterly.
RMS gets my vote.

Since your car is your daily driver, you need to buy another "hobby" car project for the 400.
Go with HDK

I say pay 10% tithes, then give in the offering, then take someone(s) you love out to eat, and if you have a debt, put 1/2 what's left towards the smallest debt to get closer to paying it off, and spend the remaining on your hobby!....... unless.... you have a significant other, and kids, then make sure they get some spoon in the ice cream!

Haven't had one in years-but I get to pay four times a year.

No idea what will happen this year.
Still too much debt.
Maybe the past activity of my ex will wipe out everything again this year and I will owe even more rather than see a dollar.
If I get a dollar back I will put it in a fund for teeth.

I just finished mine. I thought after retiring last year and working a part time job I would get back a good return. Last year was 4300. This year I am going to be close to breaking even. The affordable care act is going to hurt a lot of people. Those subsidies are not free.
This year I have Medicare so maybe next year will be different.
Hopeful
