This is total badassary it's coming together like this! What an awesome story this will make. I WANT one of the recreation pictures. I will gladly pay for a copy.

Happy 4th everyone.....Thank you Founders for your precious gift of liberty.

Hopefully, the re-creation picture of the April 75 CarCraft picture will grace a new cover of CarCraft.

We will supply Butch a table and chair in the HDK tent at the Nats, I'm sure he will have a pocketfull of Sharpies. Glad I saved all the rubber I scrapped out of the rear wheel wheels and inner quarters.

I know that's right! Everything from that car is a piece of history.

I will divide the tire remains into about 20 plastic containers, label it "Official California Flash Tire Rubber", have Butch bless it (autoghaph it) and use the proceeds towards Butch's golfing fees while in Columbus.

got back from the fab shop (Hemi Swinger build) in time to reattach the passenger door. The drivers door, front fenders, and deck lid ....maybe even the hood comes tomorrow. Bro John will probably add photos.....if he remembers his camera.

easy Saturday sizing up the decals for the front fender.....The Flash is really coming into its own. I sent some photos to Butch. I think he liked them.

Headlines 6:00am 7/18/2018.....heading this morning to Michigan to pick up the Flash's Hemi......Whoooompa!

Steve Atwell Sr. (Michigan) supplied the components and built the long block.
Show and go motor, big cubes, big lumpy solid lifter cam. Maybe OMM will supply the details.

572 Hemi, 300/590 solid lifter stick for good crackle but reliable show duty. MSD crank trigger ignition firing N.O.S. Accel 16 plug distributors. Matched 1050 4500 Dominator carbs on a Weiand magnesium manifold.

Got the rear end finished except that the ladder bars are at the platers. Nice to see wheels and tires on the back of it. Denny thinks he will probably put the engine in tomorrow and all glass gets installed Monday.

Are those the thin stamped alum. covers ? I couldn't stop the ones I tried from leaking, went back to the stock steel ones.

yes they are the thin aluminum.....we will see. Do...or did they make steel dual plug valve covers?

I only have three sets of them....2 NOS that have never been bolted on a motor, 1 set slightly used / bolted on.

If anything else.....great wall hangers.

If I remember right the dual plug valve covers I borrowed from Jim Hale were the light alum. ones. I could be wrong on that tho. We didn`t have dual plug heads ands used the dual to single adapters , ''or what ever they were called,'' they leaked too! LOL

your memory is still good....that what they are.

the adapters do look a little suspicious, but not much choice for us with dual plugs. ....maybe a thin coat of pooky sauce will help

Someone did make dualplug stamped steel covers, but don’t know who. I had bought a set of chromed ones on eBay, they were modified for bigger springs and chromed. They were vintage. Only set I had ever seen. I had a dualplug accel and trigger also. Sold that stuff to get billet stuff. Big Mistake
Oh, awesome job btw !!!
