I always consider tires to be a consumable like gas and oil.

I look at it like this...

$1500 for tires that last 40,000 miles
$4800 for gas to go 40,000 miles
$300 for oil changes over 40,000 miles.

We wouldn’t think much about the cost of tires if we payed for them a little at a time like we do for fuel.

Have you tried metal valve stems? They cured my air loss problem although that's not why I bought them. It all started because we broke a rubber valve stem while washing a car.
 
Tires for my rolling stock, 6 new Bridgestone Duravis for my Truck. 4 new Triangle trailer tires for my 5er. 4 new for my 16ft utility trailer, 4 for my blue trailer. 4, 21 in tires for wife's Edge sport. 4 new for my VW TDI golf....All new this and last year!!!!:BangHead::BangHead:

I bet it’s the TPMS wheel modules. The seals and cores on them almost never get changed when new tires are put on and they slowly degrade over time.

Stems are fine. Problem is the rim where the bead seats. Wheels are aluminum and coated. Between the coating coming off and aluminum corrosion the air just says "see yah later!". lol

I was thinking aftermarket wheels like on one of my 96 Camrys.

Stopped for a burger then back to whatever i thought i was doing. Oh, moving car into shop. Tweak rotisserie and give it a spin.

hey Tim! Question for you. I ordered a set of upper control arm bolts for the polara. They look very close if not the same to that of the A body ones. However, the ones on my 64 polara are completely different than what came in. I'll get some pics this evening. But i don't see how these are used. On the polara, there is a bolted on bar/rod in the frame, the bar/rod does thru the upper control arm bushings and then are held in with nuts. Part number search verified that the ones I ordered are for a 62-72 B Body.

Got the tires and alignment done. Almost $500 but it is safe to drive again. It was toe'd out a ton. The outer tie rod ends are hard to get put back in the same place the originals were. You can't just count the turns any more. (unless you are using OEM parts) Then you might get close.
 
Barracuda is moved into shop. Diff is out and almost out of the way.
 
Any of you guys have or use a Harbor Freight blast cabinet? They are on sale and I have a 20% off coupon to boot.
I don't need much but a freestanding one would work for me. I don't have benches so no room for the benchtop models.

my Neon string alignment seems to be good. The OEM tie rods were a pinched sleeve similar to an old center link. Replacement is solid with threaded hole and jambnut. Much better, I think. Ordered my control arms from RA yesterday. Wasn't expecting delivery till Tues. Now it says tomorrow. Might be changing them Sunday.
