I love seeing the Liberty Mutual commercials with the yellow Duster, but a less known ad that was only used on social media platforms was for Specialized Bikes using my '72 Duster. I'll admit I was puzzled by the final cut... as that was my part of the deal, I just supplied the car and thrashed on it. However, it was a blast teaching Peter Segan (World Champion Bicyclist) to do donuts in a very crude 340 powered A-body which my buddies and I jammed together and painted in 9 days after work hours. I stole the motor and transmission out of my 70 'Cuda and rear chunk from my '69 Super Bee; then trailered it from Alabama to Park City, Utah to do donuts from 8 am to 1 pm in a some resorts parking lot with a brand new bike strapped to the roof... by 12:30 my no-name stall was toast, the alternator didn't charge, the rear was making noise and I had gone through 6 back tires which where alot more sticky than I gave them credit for (Australian 235/60r16 Colored Smoke Tires). As if that wasn't enough I brought about 10 more horsepower than what was absolutely needed to get the job done at 7,000 feet altitude! Maintaining wheel speed in second gear was a chore! All in all it was a great success and memories that I'll cherish for a lifetime! Lots of friends and a ton of luck made it happen! Hope you enjoy!

It’s how the tires are made, the rubber has the die infused in it some how or another. The “blackmarks” are “redmarks” too. You can look at the tread and tell something is fishy about them

Ok, so the tires are actually made to smoke um down. Cool.

That kicks ***! How did it all come together?
A good friend of mine is a Hollywood photographer, he had the scoop that they were gonna pay some agency in LA to supply a “small, flat black, muscle car, that can do donuts”. He spoke up and that he has a buddy in Alabama that would probably do it cheaper... He called me, where I informed him I didn’t have a car together but give me a couple days I see if I can get something in order. Cuda and Super Bee ran.. but not particularly small nor was I willing to paint them... Duster had no drivetrain but I was willing to paint... That was a Friday evening, Sunday night the Duster fired up and I called him to tell him I’m all in. The following Saturday I was loaded up in route to Utah! That’s “how it came together” in a nutshell!

To put it together in that amount of time and stand up to that amount of thrashing. Kudos to you and your buds!
Well done.

Very cool, also a big fan of Sagan. Would let him use my car anytime! Is he as fun in person as he seems on TV interviews?

You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record, baby... :steering:
