Friends birthday is coming up. Bought him a shirt from one of the ladies at the track who will make whatever you want. Stuffed it in a small flat rate priority box, effing $8 to ship it from Spokane Washington to Mesa Az...Cheese smoking season is here. Cost me $21 to have a 4 pound box shipped from Northern California to Spokane, FedEx ground. Lisa, the woman in Northern California, only charges what FedEx does, doesn't tack anything on.

You know that you can save about 20 percent on shipping if the buyer can give you any business address for the destination. Just about everyone knows someone that owns a business!!

I see the flat rate priority envelopes are $6-7 as well.

FRB are great for WEIGHT only under a pound first class is the way to go or media mail if it is printed material.

I've sold a few things in the past months and the shipping is out of control. I've had to get back to people and give them the bad news. Most take it well but some pass. It's the size of the box and not necessarily the weight. Shipped a steering wheel and it was $19.

Little guys always take it in the shorts. Spend 100 dollars at Summit and shipping is free. I know they build it into their prices, but still...

Yep, it's a hot mess.... When I put something up for sale and am willing to ship, I make sure the ad includes zipcode and region. At this point in the game people should have a pretty good idea that shipping anything is expensive now. I know when I respond to an ad about anything I have an idea of the cost before even wasting someone's time.

It's just a normal part of the transaction these days so there shouldn't be any surprises IMO....

Greyhound has real good rates and all u need is the length of the box and the weight and u can get the estimate online. Headers would b cheap because they don't weigh much.

I used to use Greyhound, but can't any longer. They closed the depot in town. Now they just have a stop at a truck/car travel station, just off the interstate. I don't know about sending, but receiving if I'm not there when the bus comes, I have no idea if they just drop it there, or it stays on the bus. There is no agent there.
Once I sent a 904 trans to washington state, and it arrived two days quicker then UPS estimate. and a lot cheaper.

Greyhound stations typically have a storage room for all packages, I think you have 5 days to pick up the package then they start charging a small fee for storage. Maybe the truck/car travel station has a small room for packages???

$3,521 Fedex freight for Cab & Bed from 29502 to 95630 -hub to hub -
Less packaging & insurance ... fastenall, + 300 $ for transfer between routes.
Ladies & Gents,
I do not care which 'party' is in office...
Think of the revenue $'s (point to point )generated if shipping costs were cut by mmmm 20% .
RANT OFF.

I wonder if all of the FREE SHIPPING stuff is making the person to person shipping rates higher. Think about it...Fuel and labor isn't getting cheaper, if they lose money in one area, it seems that they'd try to make it up somewhere else.
In 2016 I was selling a 66 Dart grille for $100. Nice part, too. A guy across the country balked at a $40 shipping price as if I was trying to shake him down for the cash. The worst I ever do when I sell is to round the shipping price UP to the nearest dollar. $11.59 to ship? I say $12.
Yesterday I ordered a circuit board for the oven in my kitchen. It measures 10" X 4" and weighs about a pound. The pricks charged $31 to ship the ******. Really? $31 ? If I were to send the old one back, I get a refund of $60. I'll bet the USPS rate to ship my POS to them will be less than $10.

AGREE 100% , I`VE GOT STUFF THAT I CANT SELL BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO PAY SHIPPING ON IT , EVEN W/ ME LOSING UP TO 50% ON SOME STUFF .
THEY ARE COSTING THEMSELVES $ TOO !

I was surprised also. Nearly 8 bucks to ship a pizzy lil shifter string in a padded envelope.
My AT&T uverse bill has slowly climbed from 86.40 to 101.90 Only alternative is a government controlling prices of everything. :(

I know it costs lots for me too send stuff to the States. But it costs more to have something shipped from the States to Canada. That’s why I get stuff shipped to my sister’s addy in N.D. Kim
